| Granted there may be no problem at The Shay - the club aren't been fair to the fans - no comment , no comment , no comment and unavailable for comment - its different when the club want you to spend your hard earned isnt it?
Halifax RLFC show the fans some respect.

I don't think its a case of lack of respect for the fans - I think it is more a case of they can't say anything. I'm sure the board have the matter in hand.

| Quote Fax4Life="Fax4Life"I am not saying that you have to support them but that you should wish any Halifax team well in their respective sport that's all, what's wrong with that?
That is why I cannot understand some Town fans wanting us to go bust, why?'"
I couldnt give a stuff about Football or Rugby Union and as such I couldnt care what the Halifax team do in them sports. I dont wish them anything bad neither. I am just indifferent to them- probably like most in thearea. Instead of some sporting recognition, I would rather the Town of Halifax was not some backwater, with poor sporting, shopping and entertainment facilities. Instead of some sporting success, for any club including Fax, I would rather see the town with first class Shopping, Entertainment and Sporting facilities. A town that is one that people want to come to because of what it has to offer. Sadly in all areas for me Halifax is failing

| Look, let's face it, the lowlifes at fcht have thrown enough mud that some of it is starting to stick and some people are starting to have doubts. Hey, I will be there supporting Fax whatever but we need every fan we can get (having dropped by about 500 last season) and if it puts off even 50 possible supporters the club suffers. So I really think that it would be prudent for the club to make a "clear the air" statement before the new season gets under way as saying nothing only amplifies the doubts in the minds of the prospective/floating supporter.

| It is possible that the decision to make a statement has been taken out of the hands of the club, for example if they were suing someone or been sued themselves they would be under a legal gag order. Its clear that we don't know the entire story, so we need to be patient, trust the BOD and look forward to the rugby!

| As the person who logged the FOI request with the Council I find it right that I come on here and explain myself. I'm not hear to bait or gloat, just explain why I did it.
I placed the FOI not as a Town fan looking for an excuse to attack the rugby club, but as an attempt to hinder the purchase of a community asset by Reactiv Media (owner T. Abbott). I believe that the ground should remain owned by the council.
At the start of the 'SOS' campaign I'd never considered looking into the rugby club aspect, but Abbott (you can insert the 'Mr' if you like, I never use it for anyone else so won't now) tied the rugby club in by attaching the rent debt of one of his companies in with purchase, linking the two in my eyes.
When his bid was questioned the default answer was 'trust me', and some fans on here said we should trust him due the money he's invested in the town and how honourable he was. He also claimed that the stadium was loss making.
It turns out that he can't be trusted to pay the bills of another business he co-owns (HRLFC) on time, and he's not putting money into the town as he's now over £60k in debt to the council, plus lost interest on that money that it will never see again.
The previous FOI made it clear that an agreement had been reached by both sides to pay the debt, in full, by 31.12.2013. No mention what-so-ever was made about any of it being tied up in the now defunct purchase of the Shay. That date has been missed, and the debt has grown since. This blows the 'trust' argument totally out of the water for me, and the rugby club can no longer hide behind the argument that this will all be taken care of when the ground is sold. Calderdale MBC obviously don't see that as the current arrangement.
If he successfully buys the ground, and needs a mortgage on it (unless he can rustle up £2.5 million when he can't get £60k together), what would happen to the ground if he approached his mortgage payments in the same way? It'd be repossessed, sold to the highest bidder and both clubs would be up the swanny or the council would have to buy it back for more than they sold it for.
I'd like to repeat this isn't an attack on the club. I've said on another thread on shaymen.net that I'd hope if the football club was in difficulty the council would extend our payment terms to help us out short term. However, until any deal with Reactiv is publicly dismissed totally by CMBC then I feel it's a democratic duty to raise concerns.
I also don't think your board of directors owe me an explanation. However I do believe they owe the people of Calderdale an explanation, as they owe the tax payers this money.
I hope this post is accepted with the same decency as I've approached you, and will attempt to answer any questions you have with regards to my motives.

Quote Greg Florimos Boots="Greg Florimos Boots"I were at the meeting too and remember just about what he said. Do you know for a fact that it his TA`s company that is running the payday loan company? Can you say for sure that it is and provide the evidence? I get that the company is listed as running from Reactivs address but like anything in business that could easily be office space that is let out by his company.
I would be very interested in the answers to these questions because I would also be worried if in fact TA did turn out to have companies that did this after strongly denying it.'"
Visit www.sunrise payday loans.co.uk (without the spaces) - on the contact page it says you can write to Reactiv Media Ltd, not another company at that address. It also states "Reactiv Media Limited is licensed to broker credit under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and has registered with the Office Of Fair Trading (Consumer Credit Licence number 604089/1, Companies House registration number 6252030)."
Also, visit companycheck .co.uk (again without the spaces) and search for Tony Abbott, the top two with the postcodes HD3 4TG and HX5 9HJ list his as director of:
Gadget Loans Ltd
TAB Finance Ltd (and a Google for this will return lots of results for cold calling complaints around loans)
Loan Quest Finance Ltd
Want A Payday Loan Ltd
Need A Loan Now Ltd
Finally, visit his Linkdin page, his 'groups and associations' include:
Payday Lenders
Payday Lending
Payday Lending | The Group For Payday Lenders & Vendors
UK Payday Lending

than 10 times in that period.

You can't say fairer than that mate. All will come out in the end.
The thought that TA could fall short of his knight in shining armour tag
is just too unpalatable for some.

Eloquently put, would be nice if some of your fellow supporters could be so balanced.
