Quote imwakefieldtillidie="imwakefieldtillidie"Okay, we might not have the fanciest stadium, but I've never had an issue with it - it's great in the sun, I wear a coat if it's cold and put my hood if it rains. Finance is irrelevant now, as administration was no longer a criteria as this was withdrawn to protect Crusaders. Either way, it would only have an effect up to 2010 and we went in to administartion in 2011. We've also won awards for our community work, but you probably won't know that. Not quite sure what training facilities have to do with the criteria. On field performance? That's a strange one as we've had a top 5 finish in Super League within the current license period and we've recently being awarded the highest marks for our junior development. Oh, and also we also scored highly on our commercial team too.
Not really a valid arguement that is it? How can you be certain that Halifax's attendances would be so great if you were promoted? Personally, I think ours would be higher. We're currently having one of our worst seasons for years, yet crowds are up considerably on last season, yet you want to pull us down for this? Have a look at a few other other clubs in Super League and you'll soon realise that we are far from the worst application. The problem is the media have told us for a while that Wakefield would be out, and if you say something for long enough, people will start believing it.
For what it's worth, I'm actually against franchises, and fully support promotion and relegation, as it gives everyone something to play for. And also, Wakefield have never finished bottom or been relgated from Super League. I'd say we are there on merit.'"
your playing in a competitive league, we are playing 20 freindlies a season,
we have been in Super League before, you get away support too where as in our league only Widnes and a couple of others bring some.
are you planning on having the new stadium ready in 3 years or will that be part of the next franchise bid having a new stadium.
