What makes you come to that conclusion? I'm not saying you're wrong - but just interested to see how you arrive at your conclusion?

I don't think Fev are as strong as last year. Thing is Fev were so far ahead of everyone they still the team to beat. Freer and Lockwood are particularly poor signings, yet Ropati and in particular Grimshaw are 2 quality signings.

Think the consistency over the last two seasons and defending champions has put us at the price we are

Very good signing but I would rather have Penky anyday and believe he is the best player outside of SL.



I also feel Fev are a bit weaker this year. Losing Tonks, Divorty and Powell will hurt them. Freer and Lockwood are average from what I have seen and not as good as players that have left. Grimshaw is a quality player however but Fev are hardly short at 6,7 and 9 so could be stuck on the bench. Still Fev are my slight favourites

Fev are the favourites, but may, as we found out find it tough at the start of the season as Been the Champions puts a big target on your chest, every team you play raises their game

did you not see ropati for widnes last season? he was dreadfull worst defender i have seen in a long time he must of bin at fault for atleast 20 tries all season teams will spot him up big time smeaton is a far better right centre,fev will still be strong but looking at the fax squad they are going to be very tough up the middle this year and plenty of try scorers out wide

The amount of defenders that jammed out in that Widnes line last year I am not surprised fringe defenders were caught out!

Well i hope everyone else is just as dismissive as some on here seem to be about Rovers chances next year, in my opinion we are at least as strong if not a bit stronger than last season heres why. We have lost Morrison and Divorty to you, morrison hardly played any games and got injured, even though i liked his 100% effort i feel he will keep getting injured, the way he takes the ball in and his tackling technique leave a lot to be desired he always looked to me like he never got coached right as a junior, at Fev he was the most expensive water boy in the clubs history. As for Ross Divorty i liked him as a player but know darryl never really rated him, the reason he left us is because he wanted a guaranteed slot in the 2nd row, darryl said no way, i also know he was the weakest forward at the club both half backs bench pressed more than him believe it or not, so no great loss there either. powell had good go forward but had some big tackling faults and was injured for all the run in so another 1 we wont miss. Tonks is a massive loss as is Cockayne but the replacements will keep us there. My m8 used to play with Lockwood and Anthony England at Dewsbury and says they are ripping it up in training and are both 80 mins forwards and really up for having a go at Fev, freer got Yorks player of the year in an average team and i know powell is excellent at picking promising players up and turning them into good players, we also have Maloney so our forwards will be stronger and Grimshaw is a local lad and has stated he has never trained as hard as these last few weeks, the lad is a class act and will shine this season. We may also be signing the perfect replacement for Cockayne, i reckon the bookies have got it spot on. I also dont think your team will be as strong as your all hoping, the 2 forwards you have signed from us wont break any pots, hesketh played for us and i wouldnt swap him for any of our forwards. your 2 half backs have both played for us and honestly i wouldnt have them back for free. Thackery is a 1 trick poney and Handforth isnt in the same class as ben black. These are my personal thoughts and my opinion for what its worth, i have been wrong many times before
