Quote Fax4Life="Fax4Life"Its not a dig its a genuine question as they don't get very high crowds although they do own their own ground so all taken in the bars is theirs.'"
If I may....
Advantages Fev have had recently over most other clubs below SL....
Over the last couple of seasons there has been a fair bit of prize money coming into the club. Losing GF monney, Winning league and GF money.
Big money for Briggsy (loaning him back after receiving big money = cracking business). BIG BIG money for Zac.
Then there sponsorship deals. Big fellas has chucked in a massive wad over the last couple of years and
PROBIZ are turning out to be cracking partners divvying up wonga I would have thought highly unlikely in these economic climes!
Additionally, owning our ground is a massive income generator with sell out gigs/sportsmans do's to fund our scholarship schemes (that SL clubs get funded for them)!
Then our marketing gadgy..... at the mo he's probably trying to find the only square inch of the ground he hasn't sold advertising boards on!!
Then there's player/kit sponsorships which generate a nice income.
Add that lot together and it might give an indication where we're at.
A club can have low crowds but if they are pro-active in income generation (or their infra-structure allows such activity), and a chairman who is like a rotweiler with a bone when he sniffs a deal/benefit to the club, you have the difference between a club like Rovers was in 2005 (lots of unrealised potential) and the 2012 version. Not perfect but significantly improved. edit:- massively improved!!
After years n years of crapola, I can now get giddy at the seasons prospects!
it's a bit long winded but there ya go.
