I'm pretty sure Clay did as he was CEO and not, I believe, a board member. I would also be surprised if Hall didn't receive a salary as he was previously coach and it would seem a retrograde step to then be promoted to Football Director and not be paid. Some people have mentioned Hall putting money into the club. Have they any proof of this or have they just made the assumption because he had "Director" in his job description?



I don't believe that Martin Hall was a member of the BOD anyway as it was reported, when Clay and Posner left that it left only 3 full Directors, Michael Steele, Mike Riley and Ian Croad.

Quite rightly too as he was, apparently, never around. It seems that the club's major error was keeping someone on board who was no longer fully commited. I mean, if he found he was having to spend more and more time away it would have been better for all concerned if he had resigned at the end of last season.

Can't believe nobody can see whats happened here. Hall is loaded anyway so won't miss the wage he was pulling for doing knack all (and yes he was getting paid). He's taken full blame for something he knew nothing about as he wasn't here, just so his drinking buddy can keep his job.

Surely as Director of Football he should have known about it and ignorance is not an excuse. So the buck stops with HIM

Mixed feelings, whilst like most we want 'blood' for the huge mess up its not nice when we lose somebody who has done some good work for the club and Martin Hall has proved time after time he has the contacts to get good players to Halifax, remember who we had playing for us before he came! thing is he is not around enough to do his job anymore by the sound of it so I guess he would have gone anyway.

Yes Martin Hall is the Football Director and has 'fallen on his sword' but that is only the half of it, what did the statement say again:-

'That investigation has shown that the breakdown in the Club’s procedures arose as a consequence of the absence of the Football Director Martin Hall at material times both relating to the signing and playing of the Player concerned and a failure to ensure that compliance was properly managed in his absence by others'.



So what is happening with them?

Its the coach that picks the team not the football director surely and also Matt Calland must have known Ostick from being from that 'neck of the woods' so how can he let Martin Hall take all the blame, a nice contract with 2 more years to go maybe???



The problem now is that we have no football director and a coach that a large majority of fans no longer have any faith in.



If he does manage to get us to the Grand Final and win it then I will eat my words BUT if we get nowhere near the GF then he must go, thing is can we afford to wait until then???
