Out of interest if the RFL gave you written confirmation then how do the two checks part way through the season work? We heard on Monday that there would be a check part way through the season where any teams in breach would be asked what they are doing to sort out the problem and then another check near the end where it would be decided if any team has a case to answer for the following season. Who is correct?



I did chuckle at the no tweaking bit though.

It's not specific to Leigh or Fev but there is an interim return to the end of May submitted by each club and I imagine that any discrepancies in this would lead to further enquiries by the RFL.

I expect that every club will monitor its position in real time though and take the necessary actions to remedy any variances from budget.

It was explained that when the interim check was made, clubs that were in danger of spending over the 40% of turnover (was that the figure?) would then be asked how they would either increase turnover, or decrease spending prior to the final report been sent.



Was also good to have the Sam Barlow situation explained properly and hopefully now put to bed.

When he was fit he expected to come straight back but Karl

elected to keep the winning team unchanged.He spat dummy

and asked for a transfer and left.

May be you used the threat of DB twerking to get players to lower their demands.
