Just curious, what are you criteria for "traditional" clubs?
Could it be going into administration, appealing for financial support from fans of other clubs, 'merging' with a more successful club to maintain Super League status despite failing to earn the right to stop there?
Or is it simply having been around for a long time and failing to be presented with their "right" on a plate? |

My simple answer is that: Clubs who have been around for decades & have some history, be it good or bad, even the greatest/most successful of traditional RL clubs have hit troubled times such as Wigan, Saints, Hull & Hull Kingston, Leeds & Bradford.
My y reply would be something like this: Your club is based in a two club footballing city, it will never be a major force in RL terms. Enjoy your final on saturday, I would if it was my team competing. Both of you. |
