| Peacock .... no longer up to the job. Bench player at best now
Leuluai ..... best for hitting it up this season, but he too is a bench player at best now.
Griffin...... hugely disappointing acquisition to date.
Moore...... great off loader, but is he really one of the best we've got as now seems apparent ?
Bailey ..... no leg drive or go forward; better in the back row running against the smaller guys.
Amor ...... FOR GAWD'S SAKE bring him back for 2013. Time is running out: the club has to excercise its contractual right this month. Will the lad want to return though ?
Kirke ...... Really ??? Again it's frightening to think he might actually now be a better candidate than the likes of Griffin or certainly Peacock to start a game. Think he might also now be better than Bailey in the front row. Arrrgghh !
Wild card: Delaney. He has the leg drive, is our best go-forward-for-the-full match player and has the work load of a mule. Get him in the front row.
Altogether not looking tremendously good.
Singleton and Daniel Smith should walk straight into the first team 17 next season IMHO.

| Why all the flack aimed at Ian Kirke?????
He may not be a star but he's always reliable and IMO very rarely has a bad game.
I think he should be a regular member of the 17.
Peacock should retire.Last night, he was ok in the first half but only a pale shadow of his former self in the 2nd.
IMO we need more line breakers in the pack (come back ALI and GARETH) instead of simple yardage makers.
With line breakers, our halfbacks and young back line would have a chance to use their undoubted talents and speed.

| Thinking about it Delaney would probably go ok at prop but i'd keep him where his is because we need him at second row at the moment because after him and JJB the options there look quite thin after that with Ablett back in the centres. Plus with the potential for Amor to return and hopefully Singleton and D.Smith getting a chance in 2013 is their any point moving him to prop. If anything we are overcrowded in the prop department ATM for 2013 if none are victims of GH's threatened end of season culling (granted quaility might not be matching the quantity).
Peacock - Leuluai - Bailey - Griffin - Moore - Kirke - Singleton - D.Smith - Amor & Ambler if they return.
Looking at that list shows us what problem we face though and are any of them really starting prop/dominate the opposition material props like Peacock was around 3-4 years ago and like Graham was for Saints. Not really, most seem good props for a bench spot for different reasons, Peacock, Leuluai (getting on abit but could do ok with fewer mins from the bench), Moore, Kirke (do a job but not starters quality), Singleton, D.Smith (won't be ready to start games at SL level and should be starting from the bench for a bit when they finally get a chance).
Leeds have lost a few players over the last few years that have been noted more on here, like Buderus, Senior, Ali, Eastwood, Ellis but i think one of the most important loses given his age was Luke Burgess, he had spent his time as a bench prop learning from Peacock and Leuluai and would of been at the right point to take over as a starter now in SL. (I know it wasn't so much the club's fault as Burgess always had his heart set on a move to Oz with his brothers).

But we don't actually know what they can do at Super League level consistently. Sure give them game time, but for them to "walk straight into the first 17" they would have to be consistently better then the current incumbents who have proven themselves at Super League level.

They're however struggling to [i[ucontinue[/u[/i proving themselves at SL level ....sometimes you just need to have faith in the younger lads. Ask the Leeds present lads of 2004.

Which hasn't been very good more often than not and we've just wasted a golden chance over the last month to test these fellas reward their good form at u20 level whilst at 1st team level their counter-parts have been blasted apart at regular times and at others looked pretty ordinary.
We do have another chance after the semi to give 1 or 2 a go but i can't see it happening with this regime.

Which is more important ? The present coaching regime or the promising young lads ? For me that's the fundamental choice.... and there are no prizes for which of the two I would prioritise.
