I think part of the issue was the preceding phrase:

All the same its clearly a reference to the fact that Prince shouldn't be allowed to play for lancs as they already have a foreign player and he only gets in (taking a place from a young English kid) due to being a kolpak.

Calling someone a Kolpack when they are is very similar to calling someone gay when they are.
