I don't think so. The leeds game is one of wakey's best pay days. The postponing of this game will leave a very big hole in the club cashflow. ( £100,000 +) Little wonder they were desperate to get the game played.

Given you posted this on the Wakey board and were promptly slapped down with facts I'm worried that you actually believe it.

Why not play it on the Origin weekend .... Just in the same way we had to travel to London on the same weekend a couple of seasons ago ?

This just highlights the fact that there are too many games to play, it's going to get more difficult the more the authorities try to add to the schedule.

Leeds are already playing on the Monday of the Exiles weekend, the rearranged game from the WCC weekend at home to Widnes.



Monday 20th May is Saints at home, weekend before is Challenge Cup. If Leeds have a home draw, could play the Cup tie on Friday 10th, Wakefield game on Wednesday 15th and Saints on the 20th?

If Leeds draw a championship 1 team in the cup I'd have no problem with us playing the game midweek before that.

Problem is what if Wakey draw Wire or Wigan or Saints in the cup?

Surely from a financial point of view it makes sense not to try play it in bad conditions. Barely 5,000 turned up for Saints/Salford, that would've been roughly doubled if they postponed it with a likely re-arranged fixture sometime June onwards. Why risk being anywhere between 25% to 50% down on one of your best crowds of the season.

Given a big majority of revenue is unaffected by a cancellation i.e. Season ticket sales/tv revenue and sponsorship I am unsure what you are talking about
