| Quote terrykelly="terrykelly"no way, our full back tried to paralyze him. worst tackle i have ever seen in my 92 years of watching netball, i mean rugby league. he should be banned for life. he obviously tried to kill him, he's tackled him, then 'thrown him to the floor' hoping that he snaps his neck, he is a disgrace. chris kendall is a legend, well done mate, so proud of you.'"

| Thought Jack Walker was sensational last night. Some people have been critical of him on here recently but all i see is sheer class. He seemed to play a bit wider last night where he got more space and he exploited it to the full. The kid is very special in my opinion.
Ive been critical of Lilley for a long time so its only fair i point out i thought he did a good job for the team last night and is defence was very good i thought.
The red card turned the game but i thought we played some decent attacking stuff with plenty of players in support when breaks was made which is very rare from us these days.
Ferres good lots of game time and looked a wee bit slimmer last night. The more he plays the better he will become (hopefully).

Both are legends of the game. Schoey had more stand out games against the Aussies is what I mean plus Hanley was playing in a more dominant team

| Schoey in his prime was superb but Ellery was a different beast.
Think i saw every game both played for Leeds and to watch Ellery week in week out was very special and lets not forget he was in his 30s and past his best when we got him and he was still the best player ive seen in a Leeds shirt. So jealous of Wigan fans who got to watch him week in and out in his prime.
To say Schoey was better in Australia than Ellery isnt true. Hanley was magnificent for Balmain.
Im not knocking Schoey, i loved him, hes a Hall of Famer all day long and was a truly brilliant player and should still be idolised at Headingley.

If only Schoey had Ellery’s dedication. His performance in the second test against Australia (10-33) is inforgettable

I would not be able to separate them o be honesty. Hanley the freakish talent and athlete who trained hard and was methodical in his preservation. Schofield the sheer natural footballer with vision and pure instinct. One played in a fairly dominant side , one carried a poor side.
Why do we have to choose both greats in same era because th different players.

Great post. When I hear people bag Schoey around the ground, it makes me laugh. Some people really don’t have a clue.

They bag Schofield because of his own actions, brought on by him. I doubt any really think he was anything other than a great player in his day.
