I had 40 minutes of the worse refereeing exhibition to endure watching Leeds Met.

Yep, some bloke called Johnny it was, he was terrible.

The fact he was at the met.

The course mate, Sold it on the open day brilliantly, was well keen. Turned out to be a shambles and abit Mickey Mouse. From what i hear, the sports courses are second to none, and I know alot of people that are properly happy with what they have chosen. Im not anti Leeds Met or owt but mine was a shocker. From start to finish.







I don't doubt that one uni will have more than the other in terms of students who come from a wealthier background. Thats bound to happen. I also think that that one is Leeds as you are suggesting. Im just saying that if someone wants to go to uni they will, regardless of whether its Leeds Met, leeds Uni whatever. Finance as you say is available and will take people into substantial debt....Do you think though that people would not go to Leeds met just because it upped its fees?? I totally appreciate what your saying and I can sympathise with you as to regards to costs.(I funded myself through uni with no loans) I just think that Leeds Met upping its fees is not going to prevent people from "less well off" backgrounds getting access to higher education.

My first year has been largly the same, the actual course content was nothing like they said it would be on the open day.



That being said, next year looks very good, as I get to be involved on an RFL management academy scheme and do a module of work at a NL1 club.

Good Luck to you mate. Be warned though; I got the whole "its first year it dont really matter; the course gets good after this" and waited till the 2nd year. You pay your fees and wait for it to get good. For me, it didn't. Ever. I hope yours is different though. It certainly sounds pretty good. I know a few people who rate the concept of the RFL management scheme, hopefully it'll be what your after

I think this applys to a lot of degrees, not particularly at any University. The rise in fee's will effect the 'well off' students more anyway won't it, as aren't fee's still based on you parents earnings to some extent?!



also, £10million a year? wasnt the challenge cup deal worth about £10m over the 6 years? if i was a student id be a little p****d of at that kind of money being spent. saying that, all uni's are a con anyway

Fees are not based on income. Loans/grants are.

If students spent less time and money on going out and more time studying then they would get better value for money out of it

Not really. I can sit in my room and study for free.
