Funnily enough I did, in a net, now that you mention it. Both I (who haven't bowled a competitive bowl in over 12 years) and a lad I know who opens the bowling for the local club concluded that it isn't quite as easy as you'd think we'd both be upset with one out of 8.

You see, that's just lunacy.

Top bowlers (TOP BOWLLLLIIINNNG!) shouldn't be missing bowl out balls.

Any game that can last 5 days and still end up in a draw sound as about as entertaining as vomiting.

See it as you would background music, pop it on sit back in your comfy chair with your pipe, paper and slippers, keep popping up your gaze every few minutes you hear anything remoty interesting. sorted.

I really enjoy a good cricket match but what I do hate about the game is the offering of 'bad light' to the batsmen. I know it's often tactical etc and if they are struggling I can see the reasoning behind the decision but the number of times they seem to be hitting the ball well as was the case today but the umpires confer, offer it up to the batsmen and invariably off the pitch they go. No thoughts to the speccie who is sat there expecting to see another hour's play. Or me for that matter. Just in from work and expecting a few hours watchin us Poms give them Aussies what for before the rugby and off they troop.

Wouldn't matter if they had floodlights either as look at the match the other week. They had agreed to play under floodlights and then complained about the shadows (it was the Aussies of course - because they were getting a bit of a hiding) but so much time was spent by the umpires holding the ball a few inches from the ground checking the shadow the ball was making.

I will be partaking in some hospitality at Headingley on Friday if anyone wants to meet the Ramrod, its a once in a lifetime chance!!
