| Quote Leeds lover="Leeds lover"Back to Cumbria as far as I know, apperently once he gained his fitness after injury Brian Mc had him mowing the grass at HQ then called him in and released him. Being told by Brian Mc to mow the lawn tells you exactly what he thought of the lad

I'd be very surprised if that's true, knowing how paranoid the groundsman and his staff are over who touches their beloved pitches.

I'd be very surprised if the Leeds ground staff allowed this to happen.

| All a matter of opinion but right now I wouldn't have McShane in my side ahead of Lunt. Other than an extra kicking option he doesn't offer anything to offset his tendency to go too high defensively.

I think that most people have McShane in a similar bracket to Lunt, with both having some positives over the other. I think people's problem is that if we were to settle for a player in that ball park of ability, why bother shipping one out to bring in a replacement of similar ability, with arguably less potential

Mcshanes cut out pass is far better than Lunts ,his go forward from DH is better imo and also he offers more versatility ,is young enough to still improve and defending is hardly Lunts strong point either.
Mcshane for me every time.

| What versatility? He's played a handful of games in the 20s at scrum half - not a position Leeds are short in.

| McShane didn't look quite ready to me when he left on loan. I struggled to see what the fuss was about to be honest.
If a sustained run of games at the slightly lower pressure environment at Widnes (no disrespect intended, but expectations are a little different currently) has fixed that he could be an asset next season.
I also harboured a few suspicions about his attitude. Which may be groundless, but there is always more to being part of a squad than just what we see on the field at the weekend, as much as most folk on here seem to be able to coach a side without seeing what happens on the training pitch. Much as the odd poster seems to think he/she would happily select academy players they've never seen play a game... or have left the club.

He has also played at 13 and done it well.

I dissagree.
Agree on the cut out pass, and would also had kicking. But I think Lunt is far more versatile and much better than McShane.
Personally, I think Lunt has been a lot better than given credit for. Has with other players he has been asked to change his game to suit a new style by a coach who is just clueless, but that isn't the players fault. At times you have what Lunt can bring to the table given the opportunity.
