| Quote Gotcha="Gotcha"I have no sympathy for this buffoon at all. Had he not been the arrogant individual he is, he would have had the decency to do the right thing weeks ago. His stubborn arrogance knows no bounds, and he deserves everything he gets.
I have sympathy for us fans that yet again travel into that crappy county over the Pennines to see another lambs to the slaughter display. Stick a fork in McDetmott, he's done.'"
It's clearly time for McDermott to go, but I can't see why you call him 'arrogant'. He comes over as a a humble man to me. I can remember his comments after Wire smashed you in the Challenge Cup final in 2012, and last night was similar, he's clearly deeply affected.
Perhaps you'd also like to post your equally perspicasious review of the fine county of Cheshire on Trip Advisor?

You obviously haven't seen some of his press conferences!!
BTW I love Cheshire - especially Chester.

| From an outsiders perspective BM comes across as morose and negative. Your team needs some energy and for the players to play with no fear. It looks like nobody really wants to step up and make a name for themselves as like i said their is a fear of failure. It seems some of the "kids" are not up to the required standard and your signings have been VERY POOR. Still i reckon when you get Moon back in the team you will improve significantly.......what a player he is.

Moon will at least allow Keinhorst to move into the second row and improve the defence.....but I can hardly see it being something to "improve significantly" ..
There are much bigger problems....getting worse with no time to stop the rot of competing in the middle 8's from rock bottom position. At the moment I cannot even see many wins here either.

| I'm sorry but I have to challenge some of the utter nonsense on this board.
First off, I have been an admirer of McDermott in the past and even through the difficult early stages, though I agree it's time for a change as there is not sign of progression over such a long period. As McDermott alluded to the 17 available should be producing more and regardless of results you need to be getting the best out of them more often than not.
That said, I really don't know what people are expecting of his interviews/press conferences, though at times scathing of the performance (and sometimes not enough in the fans eyes) he's always dignified in his responses and pretty honest. We can all accept he's probably had his time but to call him arrogant for not stepping aside after half a season (albeit a dreadful one) if you weren't producing in your job would you just step aside into unemployment. Fair enough have an opinion but questioning peoples character unjustly is pretty low.
For a man that clearly cares so much, regardless of whether hes performing, hes holding himself together in the interviews pretty well in the circumstances.

Maybe i am too big a Moon supporter but I think his elusive dynamic style will add a massive edge to your attack. The attacking side of your play this year has been awful when i have seen you on sky it has looked so disorganised. What would you think to the possibility of Kevin Sinfield coming back to get them out of this hole?

I think this pretty much sums up my own thoughts on the matter.

| To think Salford are 10 points better than we are is a pretty damming statistic.

+1
Regardless of what the players may think of McDermott, they're cheating us fans and the shirt with the tripe they serve up every week. They seem content to be laughing stock

This. Unfortunately it's some people on here that come across as far more arrogant/egotistical/selfish than Brian McDermott.

Both posts spot on.
For such a supposedly egotistical man, McDermott more than any coach shifts the credit and praise onto others when we've been successful, whether it be the coaching staff, management staff or the players.....it was him mentioning Sinfield and Peacock doing some coaching in training at the back end of last year that some on here have jumped on and since claimed they knew all along that those two did ALL the coaching.
If he was selfish he could've easily ripped into players efforts and performances a lot more and shifted the blame onto them but he tries his best in press conferences to not slate them and try and talk up their effort and how hard they're working (even though he doesn't like or get along with any of them if rumours are to be believed ). He's also much more complimentary of the opposition than most coaches in the league and barring one or two games he doesn't slate the refs as much as others.

| I'd rather he front up with honest answers than some of the car crash blamefests that the serial whinger Cunningham curls out.
