), but in a small group, it only takes a few bad eggs to ruin it for you all and give the impression you're a set of morons... And it is still above all very 'cringe'..

I recall reading on the Wigan board the threads about the Brigants group that got going there. Did sound like a well meaning group started by proper supporters in the beginning. But then as it grew more people joined who were the chav-tastic, wannabe hooligans types who were more interested in looking 'hard' than the team itself.

Survey done

A few years ago I would have said the difference between football fans and rl fans is that rl fans are just that, fans of the sport first and foremost.



It's subtle but I think that is changing and you can see a football mentality coming in at times.



I hope I'm wrong but I'd love to see this type of survey done in ten years time and see if the results, whatever they are, are much different.

I was unfortunate enough to be sat in front of a few teenage Rhinos fans in the first half who couldn't even speak to each other unless it was in the form of a chant. Foul-mouthed and ignorant are understatements. Decided to move away for the second half so went to the end of the stand nearest the Hunslet line. Pretty much the same except the proponents were middle-aged! Decent game though.

All in all it was mostly harmless. No real nastiness, the usual "we ate wharnos" and the obligatory "shoot the rhinos scum" can't recall hearing we've swept the seas at any point though.



Decent game, decent result, stunner of a barmaid on slightly tinged by some idiot anti semetically abusing someone on the way out and when challenged offered up "bantz" as an excuse.

As SR says decent game no more chanting than any other game, mind you I was up in the hospitality lounge which was good (paid for) the son-in-law is a Hunslet sponsor and Rhino supporter.

I heard the "swept the seas" song. Sounded good. A couple of voices tried to adapt the "Rhinos,Rhinos Sing us a song" chant to an anti-semitic alternative but were quickly shut down by those around them. Good support from the Hawks. A bit sweary but good-natured on the whole!

I must have missed it. A shame really, my old man is a Hunslet lad, used to go on and on about Parkside etc. Only reason he didn't take us kids down was by that time they were migrating all over the shop in a valiant effort to keep going.
