Interested to see how leeds view this having respectfully taking no action at the time the scandal broke. Being a resident melbournian, I'm also quite pleased this report highlights the fact that the nuts and bolts of the club (players, coaches, fans) didn't appear to have any involvement. I'll always be Rhinos through and through but i have to admire a club that develops such good talent as Inglis, Smith, Slater, Cronk, King and manages to get the best from journeymen players and kids in the midst of a jingoistic aussie rules state and general hatred from the Sydney nay-sayers. |

It should be a blank year for me. Regardless of the fact they broke the SC we still lost and I don't want Leeds to be called WCCs because of it. Saying that, do we get the 50k prize money? That wouldn't go a miss.

Agree H just leave it as "tarnished" trophy because of the cheating Bar-stewards.
I also don't buy that the players were'nt aware they were all "top earners".

I think that is key. In any other sport if a team is stripped of their title (and in this instance should be the case), then the next team whether a final or a league, is quite rightly awarded the title.
Let's not also forget Leeds were not only beaten by the Melbourne side on the day. Ask Keith Senior.  |

I read that article to say that they have been stripped of the title not that Leeds will now be formally recognised at WCC 2010. Quite rightly too, blank year for me... but the Leeds squad players at the time should get the £50k prize money (I understand Gary promised them it at the time) from Melbourne.
