Quote Carlos Alberto="Carlos Alberto"His remit this season has been to play it up the middle. '"
How do you know?
Quote Carlos AlbertoWhy? Because we have no pace outwide, yet we cannot just replace the wingmen as we cannot afford to release them from their contracts and if no one else is interested in taking up their contracts then I am afraid we have to make do. '"
We have the same team as last season, bar Talau. Why should our wingers suddenly become such a problem that we can't pass to them anymore?
Quote Carlos AlbertoPotter wants us to revert to the side that throws the ball around left, right and centre, '"
How do you know this?
Quote Carlos Albertobut until we blood the kids sufficiently to be confident enough to do this, the club will use it's primary weapon, that being the pack.'"
Our pack is our primary weapon? You could have fooled me on Saturday night! Only the first version of it functioned. Leeds were all over us when Hargreaves and Fas were on.
Quote Carlos AlbertoI think we're getting a bit over-emotional in our thoughts of his legacy. Fair enough, we won the CC every year he was here, but we also failed in the GF more times than we won it under him, yet he is held up as some kind of wunderkind coach, the 2006 season apart.'"
We may well have won it this year under Anderson had he stayed, but he went, so we will never know and he will always be remembered as the coach who oversaw two losses to one win. But he also helped us through one WCC, three Challenge Cups and four league leaders shields. That is probably why some fans are getting a bit 'over-emotional' about him. He also appeared to care about the club. Potter speaks about the team and the club and the fans in the third person, which is alienating. So it isn't just Anderson the coach who is remembered with fondness but also the person passionate about his rugby and who appeared to care about the club. I really miss his weekly articles in the Star, for example, and seeing him walk about with his shades on even when it was dark.
Quote Carlos Albertothe same people would still be posting the same threads on he condemning Potter for being a different person to our last coach.'"
I disagree. I think those people would instead be thinking thank God for that and they might be more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I know that's how I would be feeling, anyway! As it is, Meli et al made their cockups and we were so clueless in attack that I knew we wouldn't score tries in response after that video ref decision. A year ago I wouldn't have thought that. I didn't think that; I still thought we had a chance up to the hooter because we had an attack and we were always capable of coming back.
