| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"Isn't Edwards now one of the most respected rugby coaches?'"
Even Paul Cullen has had success coaching in the lower levels of British rugby, which is exactly where Edwards is now. If he wanted a real challenge he'd take up the reins at Wigoon. He doesn't. He wants a job where his minute RL knowledge contributes significantly to his success. He'd flop in league as I've said a million times before and I would like nothing better than to see him steer yourselves in circles around the same sea of mediocrity you've been in since Raper left.

| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"Absolute rubbish.
Edwards, the man who WON more winners medals than any other player, scored more tries than any other halfback, captained his club and country, led the ONLY English club team to victory in Australia the WCC, and he was according to you, just a support player.
If it was so easy, why didn't others do it?'"
It ought not be difficult to pick up a barrow full of medals captaining a team that cherry-picked most of the best players in the league (bankrupting itself in the process) and putting them on full-time contracts in a semi-pro league. They might as well have given him the medals before a ball was kicked.
Quote Rogues GalleryAnd as for the coaching, what are the coaches doing now who picked Martyn in their team.'"
All coaches (perhaps excluding Bennett) have a sell-by date. John Monie broke all manner of records coaching Wigan - where is he today? I mean, what point are you struggling to make?
Quote Rogues GalleryAnd with all this wonderful ability
that Maryn had, why is he not coaching.'"
Why isn't Martin Offiah coaching, or countless other talented players who don't coach a lick?
Quote Rogues GalleryIsn't Edwards now one of the most respected rugby coaches?'"
Respected by whom? Rugger buggers? What's he achieved coaching in SL? Nothing. Maybe he should become an assistant to somebody half-decent so his life-time theme of riding on the backs of his betters can be sustained.

You always seem to put across a good argument based on facts not opinion.
i don't know if you remember when the pie eaters were calling for Edwards head for nigh on 2 seasons. Yes the greatlt honoured well respected Sean Edwards was batterred week in week out by them , on GMR & any other medium that was prepared to listen.
Don't remember too many Saints fans calling for Tommy's head .

I don't remember that happening, and even if it did what has that to do with the comparison between a Rugby League legend in Edwards and a journeyman in Martyn.
Did different coaches pick Edwards for Great Britain?
Did different coaches reject Martyn for Great Britain?
In 50 or more years which one do you think will be remembered?
What it shows is that Martyn was a good player, Edwards was a great player.

| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"He was never good enough for Great Britain, that's why he wasn't picked.
Your correct about his lack of pace, and he was a poor defender.'"
Those grapes are so sour.
He was despised by Wiganers because he was the scourge of them. Had some blinders against the pies.
You just can't admit how good he was even now after years out of the game.
How about his blind pass to Peter Shiels against the Goons in another derby I think.
You make no reference to his fantastic rugby brain and kicking game as well, you are a bitter and twisted troll sir.

| The was nothing wrong with tommys defence. He defended just as good as any halfback if not better.
His rugby brain made up for his lack of pace and you knew he would always try something different when needed.
No matter what rogues says tommy was utter pure class who missed many GB games as he had a knack of getting injured when GB played.
Let's not forget that tommy was a regular for his country.

He was so good his club coach wanted rid of him
He was so good the Engalnd and GB coaches didn't want him.
But he was too good for the coaches or he was always injured.
In best Alan Sugar mode.
"You're fired"
He was a good club journeyman, no more no less.
Another Parry Gordon.

Blah, blah, GB caps....
Blah, blah Journeyman...
Change the record. In this case GB caps has nowt to do with it.
Just admit you hate him as he was the scourge of the Goons!

| Quote ROBINSON="ROBINSON"Yes they did. Offiah, Miles, Shelford, Iro and Clarke played at Wigan in the 1990s. Edwards and Gregory played at Wigan in the 1980s.

My friend, the fact that you don't remember Iro and Shelford playing in the same side as Edwards and Gregory in 1987 (remember, you where World Champions?) not only astounds me but also loses any respect I previously may have had for your posts.
PS for your perusal I've added an '87 game onto You tube for you - take a look - you might learn something.
