| i put Brett in , casue i dont want to see him get hammered , but i dont expect him to win. and would rather he was playing for the Bulls. and a few players that might not be the best but would either organise a team or bring attention. got to wonder if teams like Warrington, saints and wigan that could have a lot of players england and exiles out will say?

| Quote Sensei-Bull="Sensei-Bull"Know exactly what you mean but its certainly not as I view it. I've watch internationals at Headingly before. The large family of Leeds fans stood infront of me boo'd every time a Bulls player got the ball, which was quite often as we had Peacock, Fielden and co at the Bulls at that time. It totally spoilt the game for me. Not because they didn't like Bradford but because I couldn't believe people could be so petty. It was England playing.
I must admit that an England team comprising only Wigan, Leeds and saints players doesn't have the same appeal to me as one which has a few other club representatives. I'd Still support them the same though.'"
That sort of scenario is exactly what I was meaning yeah. It's moronic for people to boo England players just because they come from a club that they don't like. When playing for their club sides, I don't care at all for the likes of Senior, McGuire and Long. But when they pulled on an England shirt, they got every support from me at the match. As I say, you don't see it from anything but a small minority at Football, Cricket or Yawnion (and I've attended internationals for football & cricket before so have first hand knowledge).
I do take your point though about one of your own players being there. It does fill you with a slight sense of pride because he comes from your side and makes it a little more interesting because you want him to do well. I suppose it's a toned down version of if it was a member of your family playing. You're bound to be a little more interested in him.
It's just a shame the idiots take it so far that they're the only players they'll cheer for.
I've ordered my tickets for the Exiles match anyway. And all being well, will be attending the 4 Nations matches involving England too. (and maybe even one of the other games depending on finances). And I'll be there cheering on all the England boys, even the likes of Sam Tomkins who is one of the most unlikeable little sh*ts in the league!

Quote tigertot="tigertot"I disagree, all those I've highlighted below, taken from Mission's team, are not/no longer international class & would struggle to get in the England team. Not that it shouldn't be a cracking game, providing the Exiles are committed:
B Hodgson
F Meli
M King
G Carmont
P Richards
R Chase
T Leuluai
K Leuluai
D Buderus
W Mason
S Menzies
G Morrison
C Fitzgibbon'"
Just having a look on different forums, having a nosey at who would pick what.
I know I would have Hodgeson over Widdop anyday. And Fitzgibbon not in England team? He certainly outshines our current 13's stats.

On another note, looking forward to our game tomorrow!

Except it wouldn't be Hodgson over Widdop. It would be Hodgson over Tomkins I would think? Sam Tomkins has been playing fullback for Wigan and Widdop has been playing 6 for Melbourne. Granted, McNamara is probably stupid enough to play them the other way around, but common sense would have Sam Tomkins as fullback for England.

While Fitzgibbon is no doubt a great player (and I picked him in my Exiles side), the one position England are blessed with plenty of quality is the back row, so I'd have no problem with him not being picked if he was eligible.
As well as that, in both cases you need to look at the age too. Hodgson & Fitzgibbon are coming to the back end of their careers now, whereas the likes of Tomkins, Widdop and other backrow options are younger and are likely to be in the team for longer, so better options long term.

You could pick an England player to match or better in every position, except possibly at 6 & maybe one of the threequarters depending on who is fit for England. We are not quite as strong as I anticipated as the likes Ellis & Burgess are not going to be released.

That's what I was getting at, McBanana has swpped Tomkins/Widdop around a lot! Granted I would give Tomkins the place over Hodgson, but he the former MOS is no player to be sniffed at.

True about their ages, probably one thing which goes in the England players' favour, but by no stretch would Fitz ''struggle'' to get into England. However, Burgess and Ellis are ripping it up over there and I would choose Sinfield over O'Loughlin for 13 anyway!
