But from the commentary it sounded like he had plenty of pace and promise on attack, but his defence sounded pretty poor...

Only one that looked like doing anything with the ball really, bit dodgy in defence. Lad played well though, just a shame someof his senior team mates let the side down.

Showed plenty of promise in attack but looks a bit suspect defensively, however that's usually the case with young outside backs and it is something which should improve with experience.

Plenty of effort, odd mistake, two tries. If the rest of the side had shown the same effort for half the game rather than the last 10, we'd have won

Two tries on debut is a great effort from any young player. He played the full 80 minutes with some energy and made good yards. He made a couple of errors defensively but he's a young lad and it is to be expected. His performance was probably the biggest positive to come out of today. Just how quick is Jodie Broughton? He left us for dead several times today.

Did I miss something? I thought he looked pretty ordinary. But then he was probably the best of the backs which says an awful lot.

Obviously so. I thought he did well for his debut, he ran the ball in hard and came up with some tries. I'm not sure you can ask much more from a professional debut. I don't think anyone is claiming he'll be the next Offiah or a GB cert but I thought he did well in all honesty.

Both his tries needed a bit of scoring. He looked keen. His slight build hampered him a couple of times but overall he did ok. The miss on Broughton showed the difference between a kid who I think has only just gone full time and a player who's further on in development.

A sloth with bunions could do that at the moment.

After 1 match Vinny Finnigan is the best winger at the club. For a part timer it was a debut and a half.



Also Sykes should stay were he was today. Reardon had his best game at Full back (although the missed takle on Broughton was a joke) and kearney is the best Stand off. All it needed was orford although if we could tackle it would have been a nilling. i would say 26 of salford's points came from their own half.
