Yeah, it is. Though Tong school (and grounds thereof) are somewhat extensive to say the least so, as an address, it's not that specific!! There is a car park, which I guess we'll be OK using, though as I live in Tyersal I might walk. Unless it's tipping down........

Yep it was good to get inside info on new players, albeit unofficially. Another reward for signing up with Bullbuilder.



They really are good facilities up there. There were some interesting titbits of information to come out. For instance on average only 1 in 8 academy signings make it to 1st team. There's a picture of every one since 1998 on the wall in the main corridor. Getting 8-10 home grown players in the 1st team squad is becoming more and more important.



When signing up young kids the competition is hotter than ever. Most decide on where to go based solely on what they're going to be paid and how the 1st team is doing. Medley said that having good facilities helps and stressed how important it was to show there was a pathway into the 1st team and that they have opportunities to make it. So while we may not always be able to compete in terms of salary and signing on fee we have good facilities, good coaches and a a genuine chance to come through.



It's also not always the clubs you think offering huge money to 16 year olds either. It has been the likes of Warrington etc offering 5 figure sums in the past but Wakefield have thrown there money around since getting a new backer.



Medley also made sure we were aware of how important Bullbuilder is in providing funds for new equipment and for things like training at the RAF. The new floodlights paid for by Bullbuilder have made a huge difference.



So if you haven't done already sign up!

It was good to see around and hear about the commitment made by the juniors and their coaches especially.

As Paul Medley said, he's got an infinite list of things he'd like to do with his budget and a little help, with equipment for example, frees up his resources for something else.



Any names on lists however were spelling mistakes or something...

Sounded like a good event, unfortunately getting to Bradford for 9am on a Sunday just isn't possible for me. Hopefully make something in the future.
