Can't decide what to make of this.. he is undoubtedly a talented player but carries a fair amount of risk. I presume the club must be fairly confident of obtaining a visa for him though to have even of signed him.

Bird + Deacon with Jeffries as cover certainly sounds promising.



Seems rather silly though if we risk the chance of losing him midway through the season.

I blame af for starting a thread about how the Bulls don't make rash big name signings. Hopefully not a sign of desperation at least it proves we are way under the salary cap if we are beating off Wigan

I wouldn't be unduly worried to lose him for a few weeks part way through IF he was available for the latter end of the season and his heart is in it.



There is a lot of if's and but's to this potential deal and it's far from straight forward. Which is why he could be a very good buy or a complete disaster! I'm just hoping that Macca and Hood have done their homework and see it as an educated and informed risk!

My worry is that Cronulla were perpared to spend big bucks on him but then sacked him before the trial even took place - smells dodgy, there is obviously a lot of other things going on behind the scenes that we don't know about

Can I just say by the way, nothing has been proved as to what he is alleged to have done. People are saying all this about his character and should we sign someone like that, but he still insists he is innocent.



Innocent until proven guilty and all that. I would say let's not question this based on his character unless he is actually found guilty. I understand the other reasons for questioning the signing (whether I agree with them or not) but I don't think it's fair to use this as a reason yet.

I think the stitches in his girlfriends face make me less inclined to give him benfit of the doubt.





From a playing point of view he is a good player who certainly will improve your team and is a good signing.





I am glad however we did not sign him because i have no time for people like him.



I would expect that you are unlikely to see him for a good few weeks as even in straightforward cases it take as while to get a visa. By then he will be due to go back to OZ.



I cannot help feeling that it is a bit of a PR stunt because after the Carney debacle and the problems Hull are having with Crocker this has to be one of the riskiest signings this season. there has to be some planning around the fact he will not ever even get here.

Also on the T&A it states his girlfriend is actually standing by him and he maintains he is innocent.. think theres a lot to this story that is a bit weird when your gf is standing by you.

His wife has not pressed any charges so he is free to play & sign for us.
