No argument from me. Give me a ring, I'll get the car out and take you myself.
Possibly you are too nice for head coach but that team needs a serious kicking.

| 1-7 is pretty much his team. Sure, the pack's been ripped apart but the backline hasn't. Yet on the occasion we're actually attacking we lose all structure and our passing across the field is awful.
Defensive line speed was poor last season but now it's non existant.
FC has some genuine excuses but these are basics.

| I am unsure why people are mentioning players being good enough for a top 8 side. I said nothing about that. We are a long way off that quality at the moment and I do not expect it either.
What gets me is that we are getting a complete going over in every game now and it looks like we will need to score 40+ points a game, with an apparently shocking attack, to get anything, given how many we concede.
That 1-17 named last night, on paper, looked not bad. Yet clearly something is FAR wrong.

| Oh, and BTW, this is not a "cummins out" thread, just a genuine question to people who see it every week.

| After last night it is obvious the quality is just not there to work with. Struth, Wayne Bennett would not get anything out of that six pack Gale is trying to work behind a beaten ,cannot be d/unfit pack. Sows ear and silk purse come to mind. The only glint of gold : Bradford are marginally less dire than Wakefield. Now that match should be a nail biting championship decider.

| Hard to argue that team is firing on all its available cylinders. I know it's not the question asked but I thought we were too light up front before Carvell and Scruton left. Fakir isn't fit and atm is limited to either holding on to the ball or running with it. Both at the same time look a week or two away yet. Not sure how much of a plan you can realistically have when your front line is made of tissue paper.
That said, the only people who have consistently impressed me with their enthusiasm this year though have been Kear and Donno, maybe Purtell too. There have been flashes from others but only in spells. That definitely needs to change. If it wasn't already obvious from his whole demeanour then we've seen plenty of hints from player interviews that Cummins is a matey coach who persuades rather than a leader who demands and gets. That definitely has its place but it's not a one size fits all solution and I'm not sure he can wear that other hat. Somebody needs to.

Ok but you have to ask why there isn't the quality to work with at the moment. That has to be down to Cummins ability to retain our best players. I think it's been widely commented on here that whitehead, heath and sammut didn't get on with him. Ok scrutes left because he wanted financial security but I think that was only part of the reason the others did. How much better would we be with those 3 in our team? Anyone who thinks Cummins is great because he's managed to keep the squad we've got now, do you think they'd be here if anyone else would take them? Why did he do everything he could to stop gale leaving but then actively encourage anyone else "who didn't want to be here" to get out? Poor people management skills if you ask me.

| Quote Bull Mania="Bull Mania"I wonder how many Cas fans said this last year? In fact a you could say same this year. Powell has everyone of then players giving it their all and playing to their max every game. Those players give everything on the field.
I can taken losing to a team who plays well and being beaten on skill etc What I will never accept as paying fan is lack of passion, fire and effort. It was gutless performances tonight.'"
That pretty much is my initial response to the question. I think vbfg sums it up well. I heard Madely on the radio recently saying how much Cummins has had to support the players during the problems; now they have no excuses & need to man up a bit. My fears about Cummins mental strength are that he is not up to bollocking players that need it, especially those physically & mentally stronger than him. He deserves the chance but that only lasts so long.

| Linking this to the need to target games for wins, if we are going to change coaches, needs to be very soon, allow a new coach to work with the team for a few games before we get to the games we need to target like Hull, HKR, Cats, Widnes, as well as Wakey etc.

| What also "annoys" me is that there seems to be an acceptance from within the club that we are not going to win certain games and that it is already written off as a loss. What attitude does this give out to the players and the fans? If we HAVE all but accepted that we are going to get a doing in the next three games then surely it would make more sense to rest the senior players and send the kids out. After all, what difference would it make?
As many on here have stated, myself included, it is going to be tough to survive but, from afar, it just looks like we are just sitting ducks at the moment and, rather than just losing (which I believe we would all accept), we seem to be not even remotely competing (which I am sure we WON'T acccept).
Something needs to happen fast or else we are just going to go down without so much as a whimper and that is what is the most galling aspect of the lot. It is all well and good pointing towards the failings of Wakefield but they are still 6 points ahead of us at the moment, and the only games I see as a realistic win between now and the end of the season are the return fixtures between them and London. Where are the rest going to come from?
I was working last night, and every time I refreshed the web, we had conceded another score, and the view on here is that Leeds did not even break sweat in the game. That is unacceptable and it would be nice to hear the views of the club about it and how they intend to address the issue.
I KNOW that things are difficult, but the silence is absolutely deafening.

| You would have to think that confidence is low within the squad right now. It has to be demoralising to continually losing the battle in the middle. Take Chev Walker for example, he often cops some stick from certain sections of our support. But when he runs the ball in, you can see he is going into the collision 100%. He is often stopped dead in his tracks though, he just doesn't have the size to play Prop against the better sides.
We aren't helping ourselves though, how often do we gift opposition possession on our line from concentration errors? I suspect FC will be under massive pressure from the fans if we roll over and get hammered in the next 4/5 SL games. FC seems to be pinning his hopes that once a Easter is over with, players will become available lets hope a few things fall in our favour.
I really do feel now that the points appeal will decide our fate, if 6 pts is upheld we surely have to have a plan in place for competing in SL 2 in 2015.
