Your guess Paul, or something more concrete? I'd be happy with Taylor, but that all went very quiet, did he actually come over or was that just rumour?

Didn't Taylor pay his own flight over?

That was the rumour, how true it was I have no idea.
We should maybe have another thead where we all just state who we guess its going to be, along with a poll? With no prizes for the winners.

Which element of "the coach for 2011", makes it time emotive to announce it this week?

Agreed.
Todays announcement was enough good news for one season.

| The new coach is on board already otherwise Sykes wouldn't have been signed on a long term deal.
The board however have there own reasons for not announcing it but I guess they are waiting for the right time to unveil him.
No doubt people with hammer me for this comment but before you do I'd like to point out in advance that I have posted time and time again comments that have been shot down or laughed at and have since become reality. Therefore, if you disagree with this comment you know absolutely nothing and I know a lot more about it than you.
Also "Mutual Consent" is the term used in proffesional sport when the head coach/manager is being sacked and neither party want to lose face or have the discussions of settlement made public.
I would like to speculate that that figure may be zero in this case as both the Steve Mcnamara and Engalnd would have been keen for him to go full time anyway.
I wish him the best of luck and hope his legacy is a new era of young Bradford produced talent THAT STAY AT THE CLUB THIS TIME!!!!

| Interesting piece in the Indie by Dave Hadfield confirms it's likely to be Potter and that Cummins and Poching are definitely not on the cards. Combine this with Peter Hood in the T&A and it looks like we're waiting because of final small print contract negotiations.
[urlhttp://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/rugby-league/bulls-coach-mcnamara-quits-after-eightmatch-losing-run-2025867.html[/url
The interesting bit is:
"Bradford hope to name Mick Potter as the permanent successor by the end of this week. Potter, the St Helens coach, had intended to return to Australia at the end of this season, but has had a change of heart.
The Bulls have denied any connection between their vacancy and the sudden announcement that Francis Cummins and Willie Poching are leaving Leeds' coaching staff."

| Re the thread title, [url=http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/sportbulls/8270052.Where_next_for_Bradford_Bulls_after_McNamara_exit_/ =#800000This[/url is why.
Quote Peter Hood, in the T&A="Peter Hood, in the T&A"Getting the right man is absolutely paramount, however long that takes,” said Hood.
I’m aware that some people think this process is rather long-winded but actually, if you look back at last season, I think it took Wigan nearly the whole year to appoint their head coach.
St Helens have not yet found a new person, Huddersfield have only just done that and Catalans took a while sorting themselves out. So it is a process that inevitably takes a bit of time.
I can certainly say we’re in the home straight and over the course of the next few days I would think we’ll find ourselves in a position to name the new coach, although that could stretch into next week.
Once contract lawyers get involved, these things can drag on, but in the not too distant future we’ll be making an announcement.'"
