| First half was like we were warming up for 37 minutes, then we suddenly started playing. I reckon we were trying to set some record for "how many different ways to drop the ball", and I can't remember us completing many sets. Second half it looked like we'd come out well on top, till Halibut gave a decision against us and then a succession of penalties till Quins scored and were back in it. Never seen a referee run round and giver a try so quickly! And Karl Pryce must have awful BO or something, cos none of our players seemed to want to be anywhere near him especially near our line. "Strolled in" does not even come close...twice!
It wasn't pretty, but its still two points that we would have dropped last year. I guess we can point to a number of notable absentees, and missing Heath certainly did not help. And we still lack a gamebreaking playmaker. And Quins played with plenty of enthusiasm, which nearly came good for them by the end. Good game by Koppy, especially after his bereavement, and Burgess looked fine for his short stint. Good job we have a bigger squad given all the injuries we are picking up.
Two points, but we'll have to be a fair bit better than that over the coming weeks. Still gelling, I guess...

With Kearney at 6?
I'd like to see that combination tbh, but I reckon Potter will stick with Herbert at 7 with BK or Briggs at 6.

| I'm not convinced by Herbert.... yet.
I think we should give him longer before coming to conclusions though, I still think he could come good. He looks good at times, with nice touches, but needs to assert himself more, and stamp his authority on a game
If he isn't improving by, say, after Easter, then I'd like to see us try Briggs and Kearney as the halves.

I really hope he gets better, obviously it takes time to settle in from Oz, but to me he doesnt look like a 7, more of a stand off if anything.

| Was there anything in Pryces' impact with Herbert? I didn't see but many people thought there was a raised elbow.

| Im going to give you it from a neutrals POV.
Ok, I actually enjoyed the game. It was a decent battle and you deserved to win. 1st half though was all about the errors. I think there were 6 dropped balls inside the Quins 10, mainly due to a lack of composure, but the greasy ball wont have helped. Quins major downfall was their bad disipline. The penalty count was 14-7 in your favour and it just kept them on the back foot. Going into the last 10 I think the count was 14-4 but the penalties you conceded late on allowed them to get back into when in reality, they should have been no where near. Dorn injected himself into the game in that period though and was finding gaps wide nearly everytime he touched the ball. Apart from that Quins are a very basic team and they rely on building field position before they try anything. They rarely have any dummy runners and use Randall/Gale's flat short balls on the line to make breaks but today they were totally outmuscled.
On Pryce, I thought he had Walkers number all afternoon and physically dominated him on both attack and defence. An area where you fall short on is the sliding defence. You can get caught flat footed when someone hits the line on a different angle and thats exactly what happened when Pryce danced over for his 2nd.
The Bulls 1st half was as poor as it could get really. Too many errors and too much panick play when you were near the line. The 2nd half was a total turn around though and you went to a basic form of football where the forwards took up the drives and you made the hard yards with the ball rarely seeing 2 or 3 sets of hands. You earned the right to try something before you did it and that Herbert pass to Sykes was brilliant. Kopczak was awesome and must have had 25 hit ups in the game. He seemed to be every where and never looked to tired. Apart from a couple of early mistakes too I though Elima was very strong for you and was rewarded with a try on half hime.
On Burgess, I was impressed with his stint. I know it was only a 20 minute spell but what more do you want out of a kid on debut. He never got knocked back and made some nice drives. Also, it was down to his dummy run that Elima scored. He took 3 men with him and it opened up the gap for Kearney to put the French man through.
All in all I think there's a lot to build on there and if you can play to your strengths instead of trying to throw it about all the time you will do well this year.

No, he just ran straight over the top of him. The sound of the impact made it sound worse than it was.

| This is what a ' bradford ' fan put on quins board 'Well done to those who came up today, a superb effort! You put our fans to shame'
put our fans to shame? we got the biggest gate of the day, against a side that bring no more than 50, complete idiot and probably not even a bulls fan.
maybe this is how he gets over what a pathetic team bradford city are?
edit: his name is bantamfan which is why i suspect he not a bull.

Until he's kicking for touch! Absolutely useless! Why bother kicking to gain 5 yards? Surely we'd get further by letting our wingers or full back take a quick tap!
