Yes I remember reading/hearing he played for Northern. The one year wonder thing was a bit of a long shot if we were only talking about the bulls. |

That's something I never do, actually. For me it's continuous and I see no gap between Northern and Bulls. Same with SL, at a base level, for me, it's nothing more than the old first division with a new name. |

slightly different for me. I only started watching seriously since 1996 when I could get free tickets from school. My Dad took me to the odd Northern match but I can't really remember much about them. I've been fairly lucky in the quality of rugby I've been watching. Up until recently that is. |

In his day Jon Hamer was regarded as one of the best props not to win a GB cap, and we had a side which used to beat the Aussies quite regularly back then, so it's no mean accolade. |
