| Quote super_fc="super_fc"I thought Bradford were poor last night. Kearney looked like he was on his own at times, nobody else looked interested. In the first half it was abit of an arm wrestle but after we scored early in the second half you were barely in the game, and all we had to do was just see our sets out. Obviously you will have missed Orford last night, but if thats all you have to offer without him, then I would be concered as Bradford fan.
Mcnamara is a joke, he should have been shown the door a long long time ago, and as long as he's at the helm I'm afraid to say I dont think you are going to trouble many teams.'"
As a bradford fan i am not worried.
We have a team that will take a long time to gel, a new 6,7 and 9 don`t gel over night, and we have lost a lot of players over the years.
As you know yourselves you had a very disappoiting season last year and you have turned corners, and we will too `Faith`
Orford was a very big lost to us but when half of your team is croaked (stomach bug) its obvious that we were not at the races and this isn`t an excuse you were the best team on the night.
And for macca if the rumours are true we may have a new coach next year.

| Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"What most people didn't know was that Orford was the worst case, but half the squad have been down with a bug this week and it is no wonder we weren't at our peak. Thought the try on the stroke of half time was a killer, but in the circumstances, and losuy conditions, we went OK. The reason we didn;t score wasn't at least that we didn't create any chances -we had quite a few.
Thought the young lads went especially well, and that is encouraging. But we do need Orford, especially going to places llike Hull, who have bought well. Fitzgibbon in particular was very good.
No need for suicides just yet.
May be need of a stopwatch though - according to mine, there was some mystery time added to the first half. Maybe it was just a case of playing on until they scored? Or was there a time warp?'"
no there wasnt, the actual clock that times the halves thats situated in NW corner was on 40 mins when the hooter went, Thaler was stopping the clock constantly, you were prob looking at the clock in SW corner. THE ACTUAL STADIUM CLOCK> not the one which all grounds are obliged to have.

| Our back line is lacking. I shows just how much we need a player like Les, TV or Tadulala. Someone we can get near the try line and get us the 4 points.

| Quote Bullseye="Bullseye"Fact is while the 1st choice pack is ok and the halfbacks pretty good we lack anything special in the backline and we have no impact off the bench. That's a recipe for mediocrity. I happen to think that mediocrity is an improvement on last year! One things for sure there is plenty of effort for the most part. '"
I'm watching Hudds and trying to work out why they are currently so good. They have no world class players, obviously a number of excellent players, good depth, and several who will play for England, Cudjoe is a great prospect but Deacon could have scored his hat trick if he had any pace. So what's the difference? All I can put it down to is exceptional coaching, and I am not being critical of Macca, there is just another level and I do not think there are any GB coaches of that calibre.

That's some statement Sam.......you seem pretty sure about that?
Is that what you hope or are you on the inside track (from an info POV)?

Can't see many fans being at all happy if he got offered a new contract.

| Wouldn't it be usual for a new contract to have been agreed by now? I mean, not long to go, and everyone makes plans, don't they?
As I said, I don't think much at all can be deduced from the Hull game due to squad illness, but in general, I reckon we now have the worst backline in Sheriffe, Nero, Sykes and reardon in SL by some way. Sheriffe has come on a bundle but that was starting from schiiiite, Nero I hoped would be very good as he was back to his best a lot of last year but he is not a factor, Sykes is a liability and Reardon is like a lost soul out on the wing. If Crossley eventually becomes an SL back it won't be this season so that's the reason why we aren't and won't be scoring many bunches of tries. Not sure what we could have done about it pre-season given financial straits though, but watching our backline "attack" is no fun at all.

I don't know what the problem is there, He can and hopefully will play a lot better Quote Ferocious Aardvark="Ferocious Aardvark"Sykes is a liability .'" I thought that was his best game so far this season
A win against Quins is now a must - everyone else is doing it!
It will give us 50% win ratio, 3/4 wins at home. Slightly better than last year which is the bare minimum for most fans.

| I must have watched a different side to some people because far from being a liability, I think Sykes is having his best season for us. In fact alongside Sheriffe he's been our top back.
I'd be very tempted to try Platt and Reardon together next week and see how that goes. Perhaps having somebody with Platt's pace beside Reardon would allow them to switch between centre and wing during the game. I'd like to see Reardon play a bit of centre where he can make a bust and offload to his wing.
And I would still bring in Lesley! I'd have fancied him to score a try in a game like the one on Fri. We've missed having someone out wide who can score through brute force.

It's what I fully expect. After over 4 years in charge there will be a change. I'd be utterly amazed if he got a new deal.

| I think after 4/5 years most teams tend to have made a change in coach anyway for whatever reason. It is the exception rather than the norm for a coach to stay much longer at one club alone.
Question is, what Coach can we attract with similar funds available. Will we make more resources available to that Head Coach for more backroom staff? I get the impression that McNamara takes on more workload then some coaches in SL who have more staff to delegate out to!
