And I don't think we'll even need the Million Pound Game.

We won't make the Middle 8's, and we certainly won't go up.

If we made the 8's I wouldn't be surprised to see us finish ahead of the other Championship clubs. The SL clubs will be a lot more aware of the threat Leigh pose after their league performances throughout the year. I genuinely believe this squad is capable of so much more than they have shown this year.



Sadly I suspect we have left it too late and will probably miss out on a spot by a point. So many matches thrown away or where we'd probably have won with a competent halfback at the club. We likely need Fev to beat both Batley and Fax and then we'd need to go to their place and beat them, looks a very long shot.

Points won from the teams currently in the Top 4 in 2016:

Leigh 1/6

London 2/4

Batley 3/4

Halifax 0/4



Total 6/18

That in itself tells a story, we certainly don't deserve to make the top 4. Not quite sure where the blame lies, probably fairly equally between the players and our failure to sign a scrum half.



Fans have done their bit once again, despite some pretty awful rugby at times. Miss out on the top 4 though and you can forget membership sales next season on the scale that we have seen for the last couple of years.

I rarely post on here but read the forum all the time. I've been to the terrible defeats this year (Dews/Halifax/Sheffield etc) and wrote our chances off completely after the Halifax game. I do not think for one minute we will make the top 4 and since the signings of Moss/Chisholm/Keyes and the rumblings about Pryce coming back, I have started looking forward to next season and almost forgotten about this year/written it off.



However, a similar bizarre thought came to me randomly at work the other day and I thought I would share it. An image of the Bulls players celebrating a victory against Leigh in the 8's and the fans chanting "win when it matters, we only win when it matters, win when it maaaaattters".



Odd.



Back to reality: Halifax or Batley will lose two matches, we will win against Oldham and Whitehaven and need only to beat/draw with Fev in the last game of the season to get into the top 4. We are leading by 4 points with 3 mins to go and are camped deep in the Fev half. We put in a high shot and gift them a penalty which takes them right into our half. We concede a try right in the corner, with 1 min to go. Our entire season rides on the kick. Their kicker went off injured in the first half so a prop forward steps up to take the kick. He converts, sending the Fev fans into raptures and we are back out of the top 4.

Seems quite a likely scenario

My current feeling is that we won't make it, but if we do, we'll have some momentum and a couple of big SL rivals to raise our game against. There's just something about the squad that makes me feel if they pull it all together at the same time, they can do something special.



I just hope that come the end of September, I am being lauded as a prescient genius.

It will depend on Leigh v Fax this weekend imo. On the subject of our chances, Leigh, I feel we are far stronger this season and only hitting form when we need to. As fans we have no idea how we will play, we don't know our best half back pairing and you can pool any 2 from 4 very good ones at present. What I do know is that when we get pace on the game we look very good.
