| The discovery of a 'protected species' - Otters - at the Newmarket site may have come as a surprise for Yorkcourt. [Technically it was otter droppings rather than otters but the implications may be the same.
While this discovery may have been unexpected it is surely not beyond the ability of the bigwigs to find a solution. If they can build a stadium and hotel etc over old mine shafts and cope with potentially contaminated land then otters should be manageable. It must be possible to create a biodiverse nirvana where Wildcats and Otters can co exist in harmony. It would be wonderful for kids to be able to see the wildlife before attending a game.
We cannot afford to lose an endangered species in these difficult times.

| PS - it's a none story as the otters will soon die out when they move the bulldozers in etc.

Are you not aware that the ‘project’ is just for the purpose of retaining our SL status???
No need for the otters to worry!

As Maurice Lindsay probably said:
"No greater commitment to bodiversity can a SL club have that it lays down its licence for an otter."

Marsden was famous for her barbeques up in them thar hills, apparently roast squirrel was her speciality washed down with a gallon of hooch, I wonder if she has sent old wadski down to see if there are plenty of otters there, a change on the menu perhaps.

Clearly missed the point there Chissie.
Isn't a Wildcat a natural predator of both an otter and a water vole?
