[size=150It's going to rain and that'll favour the English. [/size
Maybe it never rains here in Oz and that people in the UK and even NZ have special magic adhesive hands and webbed fingers or summink. Because when it rains, it allegedly favours us.

Sheens dismisses claims, but who made the claims in the first place?

| Sydney has nearly twice the amount of rainfall than Manchester. They really are a set of whiners

That's because when it rains it rains. Frequency of rain is another thing.
To deny that British players have the edge in wet weather would be a bit ridiculous. Rain would limit Australia's strike power and give us better chance of keeping them at bay.
The general rule is that rain hurts the superior attacking team most. I don't know where you're sat but from where I am that's definitely Australia

| I seem to recall one of last times people got excited that the rain might favour us they played the conditions way better and trounced us.
I actually think rain will favour Australia primarily because their handling skills are better. If you went back 40 years our handling skills were better, but that simply is not the case now. Our passing accuracy is way behind theirs. If it rains we're stuffed - the only thing is it may be by less points because of the conditions.

I think you'll find that Kevin Sinfield plays for England

| Don't worry, if Australia loose it'll be the refs fault.
Doubt it'll happen anyway

Check ou this website where a number of amateur physicists try and explain what the Ausies are getting at.

So it's not really a whinge there is actually a science behind their thinking.

| The weather is against Australia. The referees are against Australia.
Jesus Christ. What next? The gravity pull of the earth? The oxygen levels in Manchester? The green kit colour? Ghosts? They're supposed to be the best team in the world. It's one of the main sports in Australia, the number one sport in several major cities, something we can't nearly say. They don't need excuses to be better than us, the priorities of the aussie public pretty much guarantees it. They have advantages over us from the offset yet they could moan for the commonwealth.
Grow up kangaroos. We all saw how neutral an aussie ref has been in recent years, you want to bias the tournament at a cost to its credibility just because you need to win.

Probably Sheens who put the seeds of doubt in the journalists head in the first place, then denys it.
I'm sure if they lose they will blame something or someone for the loss, and not give England any credit.

| Now its a thread whining about The Australian Coach whining, Sheens is not the mouth piece of the Nation and is disliked by many Australian fans.
It seems every year its the same old same old.
We will win we have better forwards.
The Aussies are not as good this year.
The Aussies want it all their own way.
They will find an excuse if they lose.
I do not recall too many Aussies whinging when they lost the final last year or in the last World Cup, the Coach may have moaned because his job is on the line and he has a view that is affected by every small decision and every rub of the green, but the fans accepted the result of the day.
How about if we wish for a good game and the best team on the day wins and the Ref is almost invisible?
