A fair rent in who`s eyes Wallhead`s and the rest of the looneys at Wakefield Council? They probably knew this wasn`t a viable option for the club and its probably why they offered it in the first place.
We have had 0 support from the council right from the off with this situation, I wouldn`t trust any of them as far as i could throw them - Why the people of Wakefield keep voting Labour in the local elections when they have let this city down time after time (Not just talking about this situation) is beyond me.
You have to remember that we are a self sufficient club that spends what we earn, lets hope you have another multi millionaire waiting on the sidelines for when Davy pulls his money out and stops bankrolling you, as if you don`t i can see Hudds having quite a few issues financially...

Every other club in SL has had to make arrangements to play in fit fir purpose stadiums. Sometimes at a cost the club has struggled to bear.
Why should we continue to give an exemption to this requirement to a small corner of West Yorkshire?

It must be a real struggle for the fans this, a real rollercoaster ride, Wakefield are doing really well on the pitch, and it is a shame they cannot get a new stadium out.
I am not the kind of person who really cares much about the stadium being old of new just that everything fits together well, I know it fits better as a new stadium but it cannot be the be all and end all.

Pay the rent for what? The stadium was never gonna get built in the first place. The developer has shirked it's responsibilities for years as to what was originally promised. Now the council led plans have collapsed painting the club as the bad guys as was always the plan. If you can be bothered to look at the thread on the Wakey board, people have been waiting for this latest 'development' for the past few weeks!

Give it 12 months and the RFL can boot them down a league or 2 when Toronto and Leigh move up. Its just a waiting game.
NY and London will also be sniffing. I'm sure Coventry are looking at a franchise too. |

Seems to me this is not too dissembler to how Leeds and Yorkshire cricket are funding the redevelopment, lease the stands for 40 years until they are paid for, but keep the income streams. its not like say Salford who have to rent the stadium then get nothing from the match day income streams. not saying either side is right or wrong. but it seems that if the council are building it but Wakefield have control of all the income streams and just have to pay rent then its seems a very good deal.
