Slong is better than them all. Old rugby was marginally better than old football, which we all know to be rubbish.

If they were playing these days Chris Thorman would run rings around them all. The game is so much faster now and defences better. However as you cant really compare people from different generations you have to go with who was the best in their own time.

I wish I'd seen Murphy in his prime. When you hear old timers say he could pass like Andrew Johns (perhaps better), had blistering acceleration, was a tactical mastermind and possessed stainless steel cojones you can't help but salivate.
