A lass who I know got to know quite a few of the Hull KR squad on sunday night

I watched Maninga that night to in the chinese he was pist as a fart like other players in there.

Comming from Cas over years you get to know a lot players you grown up with or live near them i find it strange this thread because it seams normal to me bumping in to players.

yes i too find it quite strange as bumping into players both past and present is pretty common in and around castleford,infact ill be out round xscape tonight and you can almost guarentee there will be plenty of super league players having a few beers in the bars.

Players I've spoken to -



I used to manage a Wine Bar in Southport in the early 90's . Billy McGinty was an occasional customer .



I once met Joe Lydon whilst shopping in Wigan in the early 90's .



When I worked in a Southport supermarket in 2000 , Sir Alex Murphy used to shop there with his wife . He'd always stop and have a chat about Saints .



I spoke to James Graham a couple of times in Asda in Aintree . After a Friday away games , he'd usually call in or a few munchies .



Players I've seen -



I currently work in St Helens , and Saints players frequently pop in , although I haven't spoken to any .

Apsolutley true.



I saw him myself with 3/4 other aussies.

He was stood waiting for his order.

They all had there green and gold track suits on and stood out like a sore thumb.

Often see Ryan Atkins, Jamie Peacock and Mark Calderwood around. The first is a friend of a friend.

Met and spoke to plenty over the years.

Probably goes for most people on here, especially those who have been around for a while? After all, they are only normal human beings like everyone else?

I worked around the game a few years ago and had plenty to do with a couple of NRL Clubs.

Matthew Ridge was a workmate and Spud Carroll was a regular at work.

I see Tonie Carroll at the local shopping all the time and say G'Day

Know a senior saints player personally, due to my gf being best friends with his wife so have been in the company of the saints team many a time.



I could tell you a story or two about a load of SL players

All of the current Wigan squad, Trent Barrett, Joe Lydon, Shaun Edwards, Phil Clarke, Denis Betts, Shaun Wane, Martin Offiah, Jason Robinson, John Monie, Brian Noble, and the fantastic Billy Boston. Oh and Maurice Lindsay.



Met the All Blacks squad including Lomu sometime in the mid-90s.



Oh and met the Salford Red Hot Flames on a memorable night out many years ago...
