While relegation isnt normally seen as a positive, it is usually balanced by a promotion, a bit like all sports and matches, you win some, you lose some, and just for the record Leigh did not suffer any financial meltdown by virtue of their SL stint or the subsequent relegation



Also on record, I think a change right now is a bad decision

Not sure why people are having a go at the champ clubs, this was put to a vote to the existing SL clubs and they rejected the option of remaining a 14 team league.



I have to say as a Bulls fan with the size of our current squad, I am already sh*tting myself at the prospect of finishing in the bottom two.

I just don't see how it is even remotely fair for us to be operating on half of the funding as everyone else, in such a massively critical year that 2014 will now surely be for those clubs under threat.

It's alright no doubt we'll scrap P & R in 5 years time for something 'innovative'.

So us Championship fans with our moaning on an internet message board have convinced the SL Chairmen and the RFL hierarcy to change the structure of the sport

Because its convenient for idiots like Smokey to blame Championship clubs rather than admit that SL CLUBS can't make the current system work.

I think the decision to go to 12 teams is the right call. I don't think 14 teams has worked and the play-off system is a real farce.



The decision to go to P&R is something that I do not necessarily agree with though. I don't think there is the money in the sport to justify clubs at the bottom of the league busting a gut to merely survive. Also, I don't see how a Championship club is going to come up and be able to survive in the league in their first season. The gap is too big and I fear that this is a recipe for a disaster to do this now.



A revamped licensing system that is fair would have been my preferred option with 2 leagues of 12.

Why is this happening? Why are we going back to a system that was unsuccessful for years?

Or a part of Rugby League !

Go and ask SL clubs. They've driven this decision. Maybe something's wrong with the franchise system? Duh!

Cutting the league down to 12 isn't down to championships clubs and isn't dependent on any return to P+R. It is a cowardly regression of the game entirel down to the SL clubs and RFL Leadership.
