RU desperate to get in the news? Apart from him being under contract and no evidence of any approach and he would be totally wasted getting his head stomped on in union it sounds plausible!

Burgess is taller than all the flankers and no.8's in the current England Union squad including the captain. And is only an inch or so smaller than the locks.



His size and weight aren't the issue, neither is his "experience" for prop. The reason he wouldn't play at prop is his body is not conditioned for the type of play of Union props ie scrums, lineouts, rucking and mauling, little free running or defence.

His body is conditioned far more toward a flanker or centre position in Union.

The same as you couldn't put a Union prop into a league team, they'd be embarrassed.

Burgess could play a few positions in RU with ease.

And if he's doing it to get a bigger deal with Souths then why has he signed an extension last season?
