| Quote Chris Dalton="Chris Dalton"I know fully well who he played for. I was just marvelling at the hypocrisy of the original statement. "Put aside your club biases, the real choice is the player from my club!"
He'd be a great choice but the statement was stupid.'"
So because I'm a Wakefield fan I'm incapable of offering an objective view on whether Neil Fox is a good candidate?
Is my statement only valid if it comes from a non Wakefield supporter, if so why?
Here's a tip fella, don't judge everyone by your own standards!

Absolutely not. I said nothing of the sort, and if you want to put forward Neil fox then that is your right and is a decent choice.
It was you who told people to put aside club biases and then nominated one of your own club. If people want to mention someone who made a decent contribution from their own club then that's their right too. Your statement was worth pointing out as a double standard.
Now you are furthering the problem by complaining about me doing the same to you when I did nothing of the sort.

| So, looking like Offiah - Trophy - Fox. Triumph and tragedy of the Challenge Cup. I like it.

Can I claim some kind of financial reward for this suggestion?

End of debate, cannot believe it took so long.
Stands astride the game like The Colossus Of Rhodes.

| Great idea whoever's decided on, be nice if it went to a public vote though! Clive Sullivan would get mine.

| Quote Horatio Yed="Horatio Yed"Hey dad who is that a statue of? said the little boy in his first visit to Wembley.
That son, is a guy who lost his nerve when it counted and let all his team mates down and countless fans.
Why is there a statue of him?
Because the country likes to celebrate losers lad, and rugby league is small time, we had so many winners to choose from and we picked a guy who lost his bottle.'"
Terrible post, a lot of people will have empathy with that iconic image a Don Fox and sums up what Wembley means to people better than any other image.

Better than the elation of being a champion?
I'm sure when people dream of playing at Wembley Stadium as a kid, they are dreaming of winning at the same time.
It's terrible because you don't agree, only this country would celebrate a loser

| How about Ernest Ward, he captained the great Northern team of the 40's who seemed to be at Wembley every year, if not him Ellery all the way!

| I would think that rather than any single person , which will always bring argument from many no matter who is chosen , it should be something iconic to the sport .
It would be outside wembley so why not an oversized stone copy of the most iconic trophy in the rugby league world the Challenge Cup itself . Also as an after thought if you have a large enough plinth the names of every team who has won the trophy including pre-wembley winners with the years they won leaving space for more wins and other names to be added annually .
This way no club or player are made to appear more important than any other .

| Good news for the sport but I'm sure there will be a few arguments along the line about who deserves to be on it. I'd just make it a combination of a few - Lance Todd, Ellery Hanley etc spring to mind
