Why wouldn't it be serious? Looking on from sometimes afar and sometimes not, the constant negativity surrounding British rugby league is frankly embarrassing and arcane. We have a vibrant, at times, magical sport which has a long and distinguished record of inclusiveness. Our history is an open book not full of dark closets. Celebrate it!

There is no way for instance rugby league in Australia would have allowed the monumental sporting event that was the 1954 Challenge Cup Final replay to have sort of drifted off into the atmosphere without being properly acknowledged continuously over time. I think Robert Gate even said as much in his book on the subject.

Does Huddersfield have any linkage to the fact it was one of the greatest teams in the history of rugby league - the Team of All Talents?
