| Quote Odemwingie="Odemwingie"I agree with that..... we could bring in Fax and Barrow for Salford and Wakey and we wouldn't notice a difference really.
However that is a problem and P&R is not the way to fix that problem. Franchising is the way forward and even if you see the positives and lower than the negatives it is here to stay.
Eventually over 20 years super league will have a whole host of stronger clubs with all of the top teams in the championship fighting it out for the top league. Give it 30 years and super league can go back to normal as there will be enough good clubs to sustain two high quality tiers of rugby.... hopefully.'"
Cas would notice the difference - Trinity gave them their biggest crowd last season (and we gave several other clubs near their top gates too).
As for the rest of your post - you have absolutely no evidence at all for your assertion about the way that SL will go in the next 20 /30 years. Where will these stronger clubs come from? They haven't materialised yet. It could just as easily be that, in 30 years time, rugby league is a dim memory in the minds of a few old fogeys who remember how great clubs with great histories and great cultural and social ties to the game were allowed to die for the benefit of a few artifically created clubs with no roots who then withered away leaving what? Well, RU and soccer so all really.
Of course you want to believe your version of the future 'cos you think your club will be part of it but who will you be playing? Edinburgh? Barcelona? Paris? I just don't think so.
Edit - just noticed the word "hopefully" on the end of your post!!

Depends on the team.
Hudds are a very good side with a nice stadium and get moderate crowds
Hull are poor at the moment and get excellent crowds (but got under 6k prior to KC)
Leeds get excellent crowds in an average stadium
Hull KR get good crowds in a poor stadium
Salford get crap crowds in a crap stadium
Its not as black and white as you paint it, I doubt Quins will ever get averages of 7k, even if they built a brand new air condition stadium with armchairs and threw in free beer for a fiver, but I think Salford are likely to raise their gates significantly once they get the new stadium up and running

| I was chatting to some Man City fans last week who live near the new Salford stadium, despite having never shown an interest in RL before they said they would probably go to a few Salford games once it opens. The key for Salford is making sure they have a competitive team in 2012, to entice all these floaters to keep on coming back.

It's the same where I work in Stockport, loads of people have been asking me when it opens. Maybe it's because of the location, people are starting to notice it more.

Can I point out that after some seasons of having a crap team, Bradford ride at the top end of the crowds table.
We do have easily the best air conditioning, though.

Isn't that more due them having a huge price reduction to entice people in, rather than having a good on field product.

Ok as a REds fan, Ill hold my hands up and say that crowd Wasnt good enough. However, lets be realistic, saturday ngiht, not a huge away support and fon SKY at a later time, its not all doom and gloom.
We've had acouple of 'better' gates this year 6k plus which is a good base to build on and Im sure we'll have some more good (and maybe one or two not so good) gates through the rest of the season.
To simply say fax or barrow would ne no different, I doubt is true. Certainly barrow wouldnt get 6k crowds based on what they are getting now......halifax may be similair to oursevles.
as other people have mentioned, ive had lots of non rugby fans saying they fancy watching a game in the new staidum so I think we could see Salford Boom in a few years (if we get the on field right)
I think for all the 'crowd watchers' and people who seem obsessed with numbers, have patience, chill out, judge is after 3 years in the staidum. Thats when you'll see whether salford can be an asset to super league or not.
PS - Im sure football fans dont get so obssessed with crowds....MAn City dont get full houses and there fighitng at toip of league.....as long as the club can survive ...does it really matter??

I'm sure in part it is, but it was you who posited "Depends on the team",
which is kinda what I was replying to.
Are you scrapping that now and changing it to "Depends on ticket price"?
In reality, it is very complicated, and not as simplistic as some of the above posts suggest. Apart from visionaries like the late great Peter Deakin, very few mortals really understand what makes fans tick. But certainly the great deal on price offered by the Bulls would not "entice" such numbers, unless as part of the package they had optimism for what value they thought they would get for the money.

Its why I didn't include Bulls as it has nowt to do with stadium or team, but a marketing ploy to increase attendances (good for them by the way), similar to Giants a while back.

| 3k paying £20 each or 12k paying £5 basically adds up to the same thing financially.
yet people slate salford and rave about bradford.
attendance is just a pointless number.
