| Quote Robbo="Robbo"I love the championship coverage.
The commentator's don't seem to dwell on ref's decisions as much as the sky team do, and they concentrate on just commentating on the game rather than talking gibberish and arguing amongst themselves.
Does anyone know btw if the streaming service will be streaming the games live or just showing them on demand?
I have sky but it's rare that I'm allowed control of the remote, so I'd need to just buy it myself online.
I wonder if they are trying to build up enough to maybe even go for superleague eventually? The way thing's are with sky/ Eddie and Stevo at the moment. If they where to offer a good enough deal I wouldn't complain.'"
i know what you mean. Come June when my minimum term expires with Sky I'm cancelling it, mainly due to the fact that I only got Sky and prior to that Virgin for rugby league. Now the presenters just spoil the match for me to the extent 12 months ago I would watch both matches, the full time programme, back chat, boots'n'all, superman. Now if I watch the equivilant of a half of a match over the weekend and even the back chat programme has turned into a farce. Now I'm thinking why should I waste my money when you take out rugby league we as a family can watch the other channels for free on digital TV.
Also to carry on watching PS do you need a Sky subscription or just a Sky box?

According to Premier Sports website, no Sky subscription needed, just a box and dish

If you don’t have a sky subscription or are about to cancel it you will have to contact P.S to get one of their viewing cards, not sure if they “fit” in other providers boxes though?

| Quote hindyscrack="hindyscrack"While this is great news for NRL fans in the UK. I can't help think that moving the Grandfinal and Origins is a backward step for sheer numbers for the Marquee games.
One bonus is we wont have SKY's irritating talking heads ruining 9's excellent build up to the marquee matches. Might be time to re-subscribe'"
You won't find many Aussies describe 9 as excellent!

I'm an ex-pat Aussie and while I agree with the treatment of the game in general by 9 as pretty darn ordinary, this does not detract that their build up and pre-match analysis for the marquee games is usually first class.
On SKY we got Bomber and Wells in a studio chatting to each other while any pre-game hype was lost on the viewer.

| Just read this on their website
Quote
Dear Ustream subscriber,
A new standalone Premier Player will be launched in the next few weeks meaning this current service will be closing.
Included in this new service will be availability to stream on multiple devices, 7 day catch-up and large archives of Video on Demand. The new service will also be free to all current Premier Sports TV subscribers.
We would recommend you do not subscribe to this service until the new bespoke player in launched. '"
So I'll be waiting to see what this new standalone player looks like. It will be great if they can stream all the matches shown on the TV channel live as I'm not a fan of watching games on demand. Usually because I have a bit of a flutter on the games too.
Either way I think £9.99 is very good value considering the amount of games they have. Seem's like they certainly mean business.

| just out of interest for the people who already have it,
how long did it take take from you subscribing (over the phone or internet) until the channel become live on your sky box?

I subscribed about an hour ago online and the channel became viewable almost immediately. I used a promo code informing them that I'm a big fan of bowls This earned me the first 2 months for the price of 1, a waiving of the £5 connection fee and a total saving of £15. So that'll be £60 cost for the whole NRL season before I unsubscribe again at the end of it... absolute bargain for all the games in the best RL competition in the world along with Origin and Anzac Test!

| I'm on Virgin and would kill for this. I know the dodgy streaming sites but they're too frustrating and iffy to watch a decent game.
From what I can gather, you can subscribe to Premier Sports via their [url=http://www.premiersports.tv/top/streaming/Streaming Page[/url when the new 'Premier Player' comes out, and can watch or catch up at [url=http://www.ustream.tv/PremierSportsUStream??[/url
Is this correct?
