It probably is hyperbole, but there's nothing wrong with that, it should more people in Widnes worked up to come out and support the team. I would say "dominating" the league will be nigh on impossible in a salary capped sport but I would assume he means Widnes will become 1 of the "Big 4" (or 5 or 6 by then!) who are consistently challenging for titles and cups even if not winning them every year. Hopefully he can do that, it requires some cash and a lot of patience.





I'd agree, fortunately you won't have the threat of relegation so can concentrate on further improving the infrastructure of the club, support base and youth development to set up the club for a steady rise up the table in future years.

I disagree that Wakefield have failed.They may have financial problems not helped by peoples understandable reluctance to attend games at a dilapidated stadium but there must be some people who prefer a club which has history and tradition,and no little success,,to a club which has 'lost' 3 coaches in dubious circumstances ; removed itself from it's original home and supporter base where a previous coach,John Dixon,did sterling work for the development of the sport ; which can sign players,a head coach and assistant,plus a CEO while in administration,and is only in existence because the RFL deem it necessary,(or Sky TV) and there is one rule for them and different rules for every other club.



It is shameful that Widnes fans should 'support' them now their own future in Super League is almost assured and Wrexham is so very close to hand after their attitude to the club while they were in Bridgend.



I hope honest and decent people boycott attending Wrexham and the club are as efficient and proficient at returning to zero points as the other club Rod Findlay is involved with were in 2010,(while attracting similar attendances)..........then we'll see where Wakefield may be in 2012.

Widnes fans can support who they like. The more sensible ones can see the benefit a club in Wales can bring to the sport. Also the more sensible ones are struggling to see what benefits Wakefield currently bring to top flight rugby league.







Wakefield, sadly, will be struggling to survive in 2012. That is the cost of incredibly stupid/bad/self-serving decisions made by the club in the past.





After over 100 years of trying Wakefield currently have:

- No money

- An old decrepit stadium that you admit no-one wants to go to

- No where to play in the future

- No players

- A main financial backer who is insolvent

- Owe their current existence to Rodney Walker



But no, the fact that they have some history and last won something 40 years ago will see them through.

The Crusaders are a fact of life in Super League. It is better all round that they succeed. I’ve seen many a positive post, by Wakefield fans, about the Crusaders and the Celtic Crusaders. I heard very little sympathy from them towards my club when they thought they were secure in Super league.



The Crusaders, and the way they are treated by the RFL, has nothing to do with Widnes fans. Please save your bile for the RFL, if you feel so strongly against their existence.









I will definitely be going to Wrexham, if Widnes get a licence, regardless of any sympathy that I have for Wakefield. This attitude helps neither Wakefield nor Widnes. It would just mean the death of yet another RL club.



I hope that Wakey can pull things together and prosper in the future. They are not the only club at risk.

Frankly hoping for a 'boycott' to force one club to fail in favour of another is pathetic.

6-7k isnt enough anymore, its at least 30% lower than it needs to be. Especially when there are so many clubs around the same area already doing so much better than that.

How are you so sure that you could attract that many? Its been a while since Widnes were in SL, and it's not like you can base those figures on a recent (1-2 years) SL year. To say that you would be "in a better position that every other club in Super League" is another huge statement to make as well.
