| Quote WireFanatic II="WireFanatic II"One moronic Dewsbury fan near us seemed more interested in trying to cause a ruckus rather than watching the game itself. Starting having a go at people around him, then the stewards.

We saw him. At first i thought it was a Richmond rah-rah shirt he was wearing! . I was a bit drunk, mind. I hope the five-oh gave him a kicking outside.
Anyhow, it was only a matter of time, after being beaten fair and square the previous 2 years, that controversy would jump up and kick Sintellins in the chuff. What goes around (eventually) comes around.

| Can anyone clarify why when Webb knocked Gardener into touch with his knees and gave away a penalty why "penalty try" was not given or even considered?

| Had Webb not gone in with his knees, would Gardner have been certain to score? No. Ergo, no penalty try.

Because he wasn't denying a clear try-scoring opportunity. Look again and you will see that Hall had already dragged Gardner's legs over the touchline as Webb slid in.

| If his legs were already in that's fine. Otherwise it was a bad decision.

I can't understand why they don't use maths to decide offside decisions. Freeze the play on the frame the ball leaves the foot, draw a line across from there and one along from where the receiving player is at that moment. Offside calls aren't subjective, they are black and white.
'"
Maybe becuase simple maths will not take account of the distortions caused by cameras?
Isn't that why they decided not to allow VR decisions on forward apsses?

And Lee Smith actually has very flexible legs - whilst his body was infront, his feet were actually on our own 10m line.
This isn't obvious on a camera.

I know what you mean. I used to hate fighting him when he was that Indian bloke on Street Fighter.
