| Quote SLS="SLS"What else would you like to know ?
Percival is the most natural centre this country has produced in years. He runs a centre's line naturally, which immediately puts him well beyond the likes of Sarginson. He has impeccable hands and has improved massively defensively, to the point where he's aggressive and an impact maker in defence. I'd say what separates him are his lines and handling, which are so natural it's unusual.
When he got injured, both he and his winger were top of the list for tries; since he's been hurt, Saints' right winger has barely had a touch. In the 110 minutes since he's back, our right winger has three tries and Percival one. He's also the quickest player at the club and is 20 years old. He's an incredible young talent, alongside Graham and Cunningham the best I've seen Saints produce.
Him and Watkins will be England's centres for years. I only hope we can keep Percival out of the hands of the NRL, already rumours Souths want him.'"
Thats a big talk up of the lad,he has struck me as a capable player but can't say the little i have seen of him i have thought of the possibility he could become world class however, i admit you see him week to week so have a more educated opinion. I do hope it comes to fruition, we have been starved of top centres for too long.

| i would agree about Percival, looks decent when i've seen him but nothing special, certainly no better than Wardle, Sarginson etc.
but who am i to argue with a saints fan on the subject?

Isn't that what Macnamara does????

| Percival is a lovely, lovely centre. He's so effortlessly good and his role, finding that natural line outside his man to disrupt the defence and his hand in close quarters are outstanding.
You may find that Saints fans won't argue his qualities till we're blue in the face, just because we are so enamoured with his talents and so convinced of his class. We don't care if others wont admit/realise/recognise it.
I'd love to snap up Wardle to play the other side, though.

I, like may, we're impressed with Sarginson's showing in the internationals, but I'm afraid the total schooling that Chris Bridge gave him t'other week will taint my rating of him for a good while.

| At the end of the day, a young player at Saints/Wigan/Wire/Leeds will always be in front of any other player in his position regardless of age/form/ simply because of the club they play for....this ideal that a player MUST be better cos he plays in a better team is laughable. Wardle is class but won't get ahead of the likes of Sarginson and even Percival ( who to me isn't even anywhere near his top potential yet but plays for Saints) despite having been solid and performing well for 3 or 4 years.
Jerry McGillvary has been and still is one of the most powerful, explosive, exciting, fastest wingers in Super League for years but will never ever be mentioned as an international while the top clubs have English guys playing (again - no matter how well they are actually doing !!).

I agree, cant believe we picked players from that massive club Hull Fc on the wing!
The players selected from Wigan and Leeds on the wings have been selected because they have been the best wingers! McGilvary will never be in the same class as Charnley (130 tries in 120 games before this season) or Hall. Burgess got selected in the squad last season after such a brilliant rookie season which he got to a Grand Final and played in a WCC in Aus (in which the Roosters saw fit to sign him up)
