| PNG blew it.
France are lambs to the slaughter against NZ, despite what the deluded Joan Capdouze will tell you.

| Quote JEAN CAPDOUZE="JEAN CAPDOUZE"Looks like being the game of the round.
It could turn out to be the game of the tournament because it involves two evenly matched teams with everything to play for.
Watch out for PNG hooker James Segyaro. He is a phenomenon, and so is his French counterpart Eloi Pelissier.
PNG has a better spine but France has better team experience and balance of talent across the park.'"
God, I really hope not.

| What a courageous victory by France! They had a totally biased crowd trying to put them off their game (typical East Hull riff raff). But they would not be discouraged.
I would like to see brilliant young Theo Fages given more game time.

| Very gutsy effort from France I thought. PNG were not so subtle but they forced a couple of goal line dropouts in the second half and France defended their line well
Would be very different if PNG had converted the late penalty which was a bad miss
Very good to see a nice close group game… bring on NZ and Samoa

Well considering PNG are based in Hull for the tournament, and a number of the players and ex-players (Stanley Gene) have history and future's with Hull KR in particular, it's only natural the local crowd are going to cheer on the Kumals.
I'm a Hull fan who went in the 'East Stand', does that make me riff-raff too? I presume you didn't go to this game, hense everything you've just mentioned is fickle, and rendered obsolete, numpty!

You don't have a clue what you are talking about you stupid man. The crowd today were generous in applause to both sides throughout.
Best side lost. France are poor and will be humiliated next week.

I don't mean to imply that all East Hullers are riff raff ---- only those whose bias leads them to boo one side and applaude only one side.
I know about the Hull KR association with PNG. But there has also been a French connection: French men prop Olivier Pramil and goal kicking centre Damien Couturier played a role in getting Hull KR promoted to Super League a few years ago, when Justin Morgan had just arrived as coach from Toulouse. And Kevin Larroyer is coming on loan from Catalans in 2014. That is why I think that the crowd could have been a bit more fair in their responses to on field events.
