If there's no money to pay the players then surely they become free agents? Otherwise they could be sat there twiddling their thumbs and not getting paid because nobody wants to pay a fee for AN Other.

If the club is liquidated the players do become free agents.

If there's genuine interest from buyers then yes, an extension may be granted by the administrator because it's his job to actually SELL the club so if he liquidated the club while there's buyers in the wings he's not doing his job properly.

If a buyer is not found there may not be a club to deduct points from.

The administrator would still need the business to generate sufficient funds to be able to pay the players and cover his own costs.

If things get any tighter they would be forced to sell some of the players.
