McNamara doesnt seem to be trying to push anyone into switching allegiances. However if he did, I wouldnt blame him. The Aussies and Kiwi's have always done it. Maybe if we did also we would have won a few trophies in recent years.

Why not spend the time and effort developing our own talent instead of trying to manufacture players from overseas. Reed, Heighington and Chase is more than enough, probably too much and we wouldn't be exactly devastated by not including any of them.'" This is getting stupid. reed and heighington was both born in the uk wasn't they? if so they are english and i have no problems with them being selected but chase is a joke and so will this be if it happens. another 40 players on a list eligible to play for england? . be interesting to see who and what situation but he is putting in far too much time in looking for aussie/new zealand/south sea islander converts

McNamara can say whatever he wants in the press about players contacting him and convincing him they are playing for the right reasons but Chase was named in the New Zealand train on squad the year before he played for England and played in the Exiles game. Not something i would think was showing commitment myself if i was England coach. And for Heighington bit of a coincidence that he became committed to play for England the year McNamara took full charge of England. And the fact he is quoted as saying "Feleti is a class player, but it wouldn't be right for me to chase him to play for us," is pretty much saying show interest in playing for England and i have a shirt ready.

Is he? Did you actually read what McNamara's quote? It doesnt seem to be his agenda.
Quote dubairl="McNamara""It was Chris who contacted me about playing and we met up and he convinced me he wanted to play for us for the right reasons.
. . . . . . . . it wouldn't be right for me to chase him to play for us," McNamara told AAP.'"

| Hes more English than Chase so thats a plus. I do think it is becoming a joke but if he holds an English passport and wants to play for England for the "right reasons" then he should play for us. He is a top quality player and would give us a better of winning the world cup. I would like to see who else is in the list of 40 as I'm sure it would be interesting
