Joke, Widnes got 9 points and refused a SL license for going into Admin. One rule for the chosen few, one rule for everyone else.

It's the equivalent of three wins, 6 points in SL, 9 points in the Championship! If Bradford do come out of administration the points deduction is a pretty feeble punishment as they can quite easily still make the play-offs. If they don't then a points deduction will be the least of their worries!

Crusaders and Wakefield only got 4 points deducted

I guess we should expect further anouncements shortly ?

You can have them as far as I'm concerned. The least of our problems.

The points don't matter. What matters is the ethics of the sport and the future of Bradford RLFC.

In a sport with no promotion and relegation does it really matter? It is a hollow punishment, only two or three teams have a chance of winning the GF anyway so the playoffs are just as pointless.

At the risk of being pedantic, the administrator's job is to maximize the value for creditors, either by selling as a going concern, or selling assets. An administrator will usually try to sell a business as a going concern as in most cases that will offer a better return for creditors.

No point in slamming them with a higher penalty to be honest - what would be the point? (apart from discouraging other clubs from recklessness but really, would that bother careless Chairmen who would be out on their ar5e anyway?)





Got to get this saga over with - hopefully by the end of August this will be done and dusted and the game can remove this stigma from the media spotlight. Certainly have to go into 2013 with a bit more positivity, especially with the World Cup looming.

Bradford was always going to get a bigger points deduction that in previous years because in July 2011 the RFL warned all SuperLeague teams that stiffer measures were going to be used for financial failings. Its still undecided (ie...it depends on what have be horsewrangled between ABC&RFL) whether the measures imposed on Bradford will be even tougher still.

Bradford get 3 wins and it scarcely makes any difference whatsoever to them. A points deduction at this stage is not a fitting punishment. Can't say I understand why Crusaders ended up with a smaller punishment than Bradford considering they ended up being liquidated.
