if the video ref wasnt there, it still would have been given.

but the video ref was there,so it should be used.it clearly showed a knock on,so the try should have been ruled out.simple logic.

if leeds' try at bradford on good friday was ruled out for a knock on,so should carvells.the trouble is the lack of consistency.

No it wouldn't. Silverwood saw it clearly because he asked them to check it. Given the obvious level of doubt there is no way he would have given that back in the day before technology came along.

If there is any doubt (which there must have been given that he went to the video ref) a try should be given.

Stop being so pedantic and reward something a bit different. We should bin the video refs, what happens happens it kills any gamesmanship and luck. Those things should be part of the game, they are what create talking points, heroes and villians. Bloody video refs kill them!
