I'd say about maybe 2 - 2.5 mile?? There plenty pubs on Liverpool road that could keep up busy upto kick off! No doubt you'd be struggling to see the game by 8 though!!
ps the ground is deceiving once you think you there once its about another 5 minute walk!
Its quite a bit away from Eccles train station. Best bet is to jump in a taxi to the Unicorn in Peel Green, thats where most Salford fans go before the game as it's the closest pub to the ground. It's probably a 10-15 minute walk away.
If you don't want to jump in a taxi you can always jump on the 67 bus which drops you off right outside the Unicorn or you could jump on the 100 that drop's you off outside the packet house on Patricroft Bridge, thats about a 10 minute walk to the Uniocorn though. But it will probably be cheaper jumping in a taxi if there's a couple of you.
