They are well down the road with their sizeable plans for the old Clayton Aniline site so I don't think there will be any joy there. I'd also be surprised if we got MUFC reserves at the ground as I can't imagine we'd be cheaper than Altrincham and doubt MUFC would want to spend more.

United might want to look at moving to a rugby ground because the scoreboard will better able to handle big numbers. Like 6.

The part I'd be most concerned about is the damage union seems to do to the playing surface. Headingley looked like the Somme at the start of the season, and it would be a shame if the new stadium went the same way. After all, we are a dry weather team.

I've said on this forum before I work in Stockport and every single Stockport County fan bar none say Sale and the chairman-Kennedy? are very very bad news. Stockport were in the same division as Man City when Sale moved in.

We are tenants not owners , and Sale are talking to the ' Stadium Management ' and not Salford City Reds, I'm sure lip service will be given as prime tenants but..



Sale are desperate for a better venue with better facililties and the COSS will be just as desperate to find a dozen opportunities for a big pay day income and Sale will give them that .



RU season runs from Sept to beginning of May = 11 home fixtures + Cup fixtures 3-4 no.

as both teams favour Friday Evening KO's you could have 4 - 5 fixture clashes , non if one team goes for a Saturday Eve or Sunday PM KO.



Oh and Sales away strip is mainly Red now ... probably in preparation .

Edgleley Parks old and hospitality arrangements are dire compared to other RU venues / Football grounds . London Irish use Reading FC , Saracans use Vicarage rd watford .

Barton has 10 brand new boxes and lounges that can accomodate 750 people .



the pitch shouldn't suffer as Headingley aslong as they don't train on it , and Sale already have a training facility just down from City's training ground off Carrington Spur 5 minutes away .



If we can deliver attendances of >10K as the Catalans game or just significantly grow crowds next season there should be no issue. If we can't then we shouldn't be surprised if the Stadium looks elsewhere to ' sweat it's assets ' .. sorry

I agree totally with you and all the Stockport County fans. I remember remarking to my other half when Sale moved in that I thought that County's days were numbered. I have been a lifelong follower of County all my life and after last season I could have cried. Inevitable it may be, but I really don't like it.

Have no issue with it and let's be honest the ground isn't ours to be picking and choosing our co tennents, said it before I see many mutual benefits for both teams.

Also helps the council justify the outlay if they are getting more return for their investment.
